Revolutionizing Senior Care: My Brilliant Idea
Call David at (805)748-2614
When I first started my business, I aimed to make it possible for everyone to stay home with a caregiver. However, after my mom needed24 hour care, I quickly realized that most people can't afford this type of care and need more options.
I then came up with a new idea: to help people find in-home care or a suitable care facility and also locate qualified real estate agents to help fund their care.
Here are the three main ways I help:
In-Home and Residential Care Placement: I assess clients' needs and match them with qualified caregivers or suitable care facilities, providing support throughout the entire process.
Financial Guidance: I assist clients in understanding their insurance benefits, connect them with local resources for financial aid, and help them navigate financial solutions like home sales or reverse mortgages.
Real Estate Services: I connect clients with reputable real estate agents to sell or rent their properties, unlocking funds to pay for care.
This comprehensive approach ensures that clients receive the necessary care and have practical solutions to fund it.
Give me a call and have a 20-minute over-the-phone assessment. I am also happy to come out and meet your loved one in person.

It does not consider the stress of having the responsibility. I cared at home and it was only me and a CNA but I never could escape care giving and it wore on my mental health. Some times a home is what a caregivers mental health needs. Don’t feel guilty if you need the space from caregiving.

My ex is suffering from dementia at 73. My daughter and her special needs son live with me, just the three of us, and every time I forget to turn something off, or can't find my keys, or have to search a little to remember a name or an infrequently used word, I can see that look on her face that seems to ssy, "not you too." I am so tempted when she forgets to turn something off or can't find something to roll my eyes and say, "uhoh." No, I seriously do not worry about me having dementia, but I will be 75 this year and have normal moments of inattention, maybe daydreaming, maybe preferring my own company. I would like to ask everyone making tbese invaluable videos helping family members to recognize warning signs that they need to remember these can be signs of normal aging, unless they become extreme. Tracking your older parent's every mistake and judging them constantly is not only annoying to them. It is demoralizing and ultimately harmful to their confidence, self esteem, and self worth.

Forgetfullness isn't a feature of all types of dementia. A patient could have fairly intact memory but poor organisational effectiveness from executive function impairment, for example, or begin with reduced control over how they speak and behave toward others.

the thing to look for though is CHANGE. for example I've ALWAYS been absent-minded (much more so than most people). However IF this becomes increasingly habitual then THAT becomes the time to be concerned. For example today I left my keys in the ignition of my truck (at my residence). Something I have NEVER done previously. well it better NOT happen again, see? why? because I cannot recall the previous time because there wasn't any! That was one of the classics that my spouse began with (she passed a few years ago from vascular dementia). She began locking her keys inside her vehicle when she went grocery shopping. I told her BEFORE you leave your vehicle place your keys IN YOUR PURSE. She did not "get the message". I finally started driving her there & shopped with her because she was purchasing dumb things at random. yep the beginning of the end, right there.

Fortunately some of those are OTC like iron, aspirin, folic acid, etc. it takes me a good 20 minutes to fill my 7 day pill box. but if I start having difficulty remembering and especially if a doc changes or adds or subtracts CAN you keep those changes "in your head"? its not so much whether or whether not but its CHANGES that one looks for. for example 5 years ago I had no problems managing meds but now I'm beginning to having to reference my med list whereby prior that was not necessary it then becomes a concern.
