Bodybuilding Motivation - The will to Change
Assembling the instrument cluster into the dash outside of the car is almost cheating 😂
Was still a pain getting it in and not scratching the dash😄
finished my s2 awhile back. Keep them carbs clean or they will leak right on the distributor. Update your original s1 engine mounts to series 3 style, and get the update engine stay. Keep the timing belt fresh every few yrs since its an intereference engine. Love the work so far
One of the all time coolest interiors! (And cars for that matter)
And .......ACTION !
Mucho trabajo y lo que aún queda. Ánimo!!!
That interior looks very modern today and it's actually 30 years plus old .........glorious !
Liam, a lengthier video would be perfect. I think you should go for it. The car has a lot of funs
Thanks. I upload as I complete something. At the end I compile a whole video of the complete restoration. I literally finished that work today
Mein Abo hast Du, Dein Video ist super.
Thank you very much. I appreciate you subscribing
Weiter 👍👍👍
Hoffentlich bekommst du alles wieder zusammen 👍👍👍sehr, sehr, schönes Auto ♥️♥️♥️
Thank you very much.
Congrats Liam, it may look like a basic question, but: regarding the isolation with alu-foil, Is it for the heat from the engine? Or for the noise? Because I see sometimes alu-foil even on the doors and on the front where there is no motor. Nice joooob!!
Hi @PieraAndres. This is a bitumen and foil sound insulation. I would not trust this too close to an engine. Although it will reduce heat transfer, the bitumen will burn with an open flame. It will not cause the fire, but it will make things worse 😂
Inspired by @Soup Classic Motoring!
Liam . I didn't realise you had one .......
Hi John. I have built quite a few Esprit's. This is the first series one though. It is a lot further along. Almost done actually.
Excellent. When rebuilt, use some modern wiring! Can u say weatherpak? Mini fuses? Also, 5spd overdrive upgrade.
All of the above sir. Also, uprated brakes, suspension and cooling
Good job sir, keep it up!
Thank you very much
Two times bravo guys! Both works are excellent, car restoration and video editing. Congrats. How long it took for the car works?
Thank you very much. The work took about a month. Had to wait for import parts. It was not a full restoration, otherwise it would take about 2000/3000 hours
@@Linkclassiccars Thanks, Is there a Lotus book or maintenance manual I can purchase in case I would do the same as you did?
@@PieraAndres yes one can get them. For which model?

There is no better way to help mechanics than to show stop-action videos of assembly/disassembly of components they may be working on themselves. Excellent work. Wish you were involved with the 60’s Triumphs/MGs etc. (Although the 60’s E-types have many similar assemblies.)
I agree. I will make some videos next time a triumph/mg comes by😉
It looks like the FLASH is working on it. Whoever is working on it needs a raise. ❤❤
A lot of work, I admire your mission. Hope it works out.
Thanka Mark. Appreciate
Is it saveable ?
No, very pitted and tons of holes. One could probably try heavy copper dip or leading. But Martin Robey has an exact replacement unit.
So you've given away a secret , at least l don't think you've revealed the model before . Is it an OBL with welded in louvres and flat floor coupe or ots ?
Hi John. Yes it is a 1961 flat floor OTS. Not an OBL im afraid.
@@Linkclassiccars Never mind .....still worth a few dollars !!!!! My uncle had the first OTS delivered to our local dealer in 1962 and took me out for a spin , l was 9 . So l just stood on the seat with my hands on the top of the windscreen . Uncle Arthur headed towards Newton Abbot at 90mph !!! He would probably have been imprisoned if he did that today ..
@@johndavey72 those were the days😂 The car still has an OBL lock (Tee) pouch on the centre tunnel cover. It might have been changed to IBL at some stage
@@Linkclassiccars That's interesting ......leave that in the car .
Utterly briljant to see what all needs doing and then so cool edited... Respect!
Thank you very much
Killer video, love the T-Rex cameo!
Simply deserves much better music to go with this marvellous work
Any suggestions sir?
I was very fortunate that my centre dash is and was in very servicable condition . It's going to remain untouched . '66 series 1 2+2
The bezels are brass. Looked so nice when I wetblasted them, shame to paint them again. But has to be as original
Thanks for the video! Did you replace the glass and bezels? I have to source some for my own and should probably have the internals reconditioned as well. Cheers from Canada.
I was lucky enough that the glass and bezels were still in good condition. Any glass cutting place should be able to cut them though. I only had to vaquablast, plate en paint my ones. The glass came clean with a good polish. Lucky
If only it took that long .....😄😄
Agreed😆
The bezels shiuld be matt black , not gloss .......not a critism just a reference .💕
Thank you @Johndavey72 Will be corrected😀 Part of why I post the videos, any advise is welcome
Wow
Soup Classics approves of everything.
The film is amazing but the music is too loud it sucks
Good job, I enjoyed watching that!
utterly brilliant, soooooooo much work with camera and editing, u should b proud :) I was following the Irish full Esprit restoration with similar camera work, however it became obsessive and seems to have stalled, which is a shame
The stop motion was pretty funny... 😜👍
Great work ! That seat looked in good condition until you stripped it down !
Yes they did😄
Foam and moisture hey
Love to see techs that enjoy, and take pride in their work !!!
Great video. The channel will grow but consider 20’ as optimum
Been there , seen that , done that ! Cheers !
Sucha great video! Fantastic work and beutiful car👏
Great timing, I have to do this next weekend. Thanks for the video! Cheers.
Good luck! Glad it helps
If only it was that easy !! , 😂😂
True. That was a days work😆
That was amazing video! Very nice work!
For someone to take the time to make this video like this shoe something? One's true love for his car! Simply beautiful. 😊
You set a new benchmark for automotive restoration videos! Absolutely awesome. Thank you for the effort. I love your work and I am a huge fan of the GT4.
Thank you very much. More to come😅
Nice video with sound off 😂
how hectic. I'm getting eye cancer
Great video ,,,, thank you.
This is a great video , thank you. I've seen your reply on time taken and expected duration of future work. Are you working on your own ?. I have done similar stuff ( but not to the same extent ) on 1275 Midgets. From you video , the E-type's components look easier than the Midget's to remove. I've just started looking for an E-type roadster in a similar condition to yours. Best of British luck to you .
Hi again. I do work on my own. So it does take a bit longer. Cleaning takes up the most of my time. All good fun though.
Amazing job sir
Thank you very much
