Kenmore 158 16250 demonstration
This very long video looks at all the features and conditions of this Kenmore model 158.16250 convertible sewing machine that you want to buy! A lot of time in the middle of the video is used to run every one of the 12 different stitches, and to run a couple more through six layers of denim. The result is: it works fine, so, you could fast forward through the sewing part and not miss any info about the machine, or at least not much. The buyer of the machine will also receive a PDF copy of the manual. Thank you! Ralphiel

This is a wonderfully helpful video. I've gone down a bit of a rabbit hole in my search for a vintage Kenmore sewing machine. The 158 series seems to be the best option for me, but which one? I'm leaning toward this model. Some people seem to prefer to stay away from the super high shank machines, but it doesn't seem there are any problems finding replacement feet, and I love the versatility. Again, thank you for posting this video. I'm really grateful. Just in the first few minutes you answered some of the questions I had.
I like the sound of the metal pieces fitting compared to plastic parts.
Can this machine be put into a drop down cabinet? I know it would make the free arm not usable, but does the bottom of the machine have the right design to be put into a drop down cabinet. Thank you
Look at the bottom. There should be screw holes on the bottom for nuts that can attach the machine with washers.
