Thank you so much for the appreciation, it means a lot! I did go to the Oushi park near the Kawaguchiko lake (it was only a 10-15 min walk from the resturant) and it was really pretty, but because it was raining I didn't end up filming it.

In terms of places to stay in Tokyo, if you can get a good hotels or BnB in the Shibuya area, that's where a lot of the action and bustle is. Though I also really enjoyed the Minato area as it was a little quieter at nights but still well connected via the metro line. Plus the hotel had a 7eleven in it so it was very covinient for food!

I definitely agree, especially since all new cars anyway comply with the current emissions norms. There should be no reason to discriminate between the fuel types.

This was not an issue with the foglights, it was just the cornering lights working (they switch on depending on the direction you turn).

Fortunately, I wasn't stopped anywhere apart from in Gujrat and Bihar for the permit of the car.

To be honest, I found the XM's suspension to be quite well judged. There is definitely an underlined stiffness to the setup and the 23" wheels don't help the overall ride quality, however, BMW has provided respectable levels of damping to the ride (especially if you view it in the context of performance cars). The bigger potholes and speedbumps can be felt in the cabin, but its not anywhere as stiff as something like an M4 or M5.

@@NBDrives Thanks. I asked it because apart from looks - depends on the person but I like the bold muscular look - people talk about not a good ride quality as there is no air suspension due to the car is an M car that too sports SUV. Thanks for the reply 😊

I was getting a readout of 850km on full tank.

That's awesome man! It is a nice city

The clutch is on the lighter side, but it has quite a sharp biting point which can take some getting used to. I would highly recommend taking a test drive to see if you are comfortable with it. In my honest opinion, the automatic gearbox suits the Safari a little better.

In the three days I spent with the XM, the trip computer gave me a reading between 26-32 kpl. Though I wasn't driving it efficiently at all, the punchy performance from the V8 ensured that!!

The clutch isn't too heavy to use in city traffic, though you might take 1-2 days to get used to the biting point of the clutch as it is a little sudden.

The clutch is light, but the biting point is a bit sharp.

No vibrations on the steering (apart from the lane keep warning), but there was very mild vibration that can be felt on the gear knob (though that's to be expected with manuals, especially diesel ones). As far as the cabin goes, it was surprisingly refined, with low noise and vibration levels. You can still feel some vibrations in the footwells, but it's nothing too serious.

Hi there! Honestly, I didn't face any mechanical issues or have any problem with rattles or vibrations inside the cabin at any point over the 6,200 km + that I drove! I did face some small niggles with the instrument cluster (the screen froze for a bit) and touchscreen, though luckily for me, these sorted themselves out.

Hi @ashridhar, thank you for your inputs. You bring up some very valid points and I am glad you did. I just want to clarify a few things: - While most of my travel days took anywhere between 9 - 13 hours, the time spent behind the wheel didn’t exceed 10.5 hours (which only happened on 2 days). - This isn’t a haphazardly planned road trip across the country by a youngster with no experience. There was a tonne of planning and structuring that went into laying out each of the driving days, following the best endurance driving practices (that have been derived from my personal experience on previous rally’s that I have participated in, as well as inputs from endurance drivers). These include things like mandatory breaks every 2 hours for stretching the body, resting your eyes and relaxing the mind to prevent any lapse in concentration, following lane discipline and matching the speed of general traffic to avoid any unnecessary risks, staying hydrated and maintaining high focus levels. - I also spent a month prepping my body in the lead up to the road trip, by working on my core, arms, shoulders and legs to deal with the amount of driver fatigue that would be felt on the journey. Additionally, I altered my sleeping pattern for the month prior to the drive (as I am not a morning person) so that I could end my day by 8:30-9pm in order to wake up repeatedly wake up at 4:30 am. - This drive has been planned and as a marathon and not a sprint, meaning the priority was safely completing the distance on each driving day, regardless of the amount of time it took (which also had an upper limit of no more that 14-15 hours total travelling time). If on any day that time was going to be exceeded, alternate stay arrangements were also planned along the route. - I absolutely agree with you, that without the right preparation and mindset, completing this distance in 15 days can be very dangerous. However, if approached with the correct mentality of an endurance driver (or for that matter any endurance athlete) - where you are challenging yourself to accomplish a gigantic task, but never pushing beyond your breaking point - this road trip in this time frame is achievable! I apologise for this lengthy reply, and I hope my intended tone comes across in the above points (I’m not looking to fight or demean the points you raised, but instead offer my perspective in a respectful manner). I truly appreciate the tome you have taken to craft your message and engage with my channel! 😀
