wtf is DSD that she keeps on repeating but doesn't explain
Maybe Direct store delivery (DSD): the term used to describe a method of delivering product from a supplier/distributor directly to a retail store, thereby bypassing a retailer’s distribution center.

This video is capitalist propaganda to discourage people form being entrepreneurs. You don't need to be coca-cola. Rent a commercial kitchen (it's affordable) bottle a batch, pass it out free to some businesses, follow up to secure orders. If you are making a profit per batch there's no reason you can't start small and grow it. You don't need 50-100k capital, just a way to cover your living expenses (aka day job) while you work on the side hustle.
Can you produce a bottled beverage in a commercial kitchen? I was under the impression that only food can be produced there. Does there tend to be equipment for bottled beverages also?
@@toddhartford7685 yes! You can!
Excellent information! Thank you for sharing. The pricing and cost of goods breakdown is gold.
Damn, this guy is a baller when it comes to building beverage brands. Absolute legend of the industry. And still so passionate, humble and giving.
His pausing for breath once would have made this easier to listen to and learn from.
Sumerians, 5000 years ago? Nope. Egyptians 7500 years ago. But you can trust this guy. You can. No really. 1,000%.
So goddamn pretentious. You aren't changing the world with your kombucha. You're not solving poverty with a sparkling water. Just say what you provide, be honest about what's in your drink, and keep an even keel (opposite of this guy's massively self-inflated ego). So sick of watching these BevNet pitches where people they they are going to change the world, connect all communities, blah blah blah with your capitalistic goals driving everything in actuality. Played out!
Cool well I have $0. So I guess I’m screwed.
Wtf is going on with these comments, bot comments?
looks like, on point, love it lol
BRO THATS WHAT IM SAYIJG😭😭😭
I'm starting a beverage company next month, I've been studying for long. This is helpful.

We've formulated flavors (4), designed our packaging and have sourced some arrangements for production, but the initial production run is $75K (for ONE SKU)... that's nowhere close to the range discussed in this video. We've hit a huge road block because we've put so much personal capital in, another $75K seems daunting.
Hey William, that's sad to hear. Mind if I ask how your costs amounted to 75k for 1 SKU instead of 4?
Ern W. MOQ’s... smallest producer we could find came in at ~125k units for 12oz, and then shipping costs for that on three trucks... we’d love to find a smaller batch producer, but these apparently don’t exist. I’ve been laughed off the phone several times.
hello William, have u seen the option of producing your beverage in Mexico? way cheaper costs and easier to do. you can start in Mexico and then expand to the USA.
hay. i'd really like to talk to you about this, is there any chance u'd be interested. i'm facing a few issues my self and i was hoping i could ask you a few questions you experience might help me. please let me know if it's a possibility. best
What did u formulate? Energy, beer, sports drink?
On point, love it. Where could I get the PP presentation?
That's total bullshit. I am running my own beverage company based in London and I started with only a few hundred pounds. For any advice follow me on instagram - Temio_xi or pm me. Dont listen to this crap if you really wanna do something you will find a way.
do you support business in the UK
Are you business in UK ? Which type ? Where ? What beverage ?

I know, right?
Start a worker co-op and get the money from a bank secured by your local government. It works.
All you need is a 100 dollar, and work your ass off with marketing on free Facebook
You guys are solid. Absolutely no fluff!
I wish I could work with you guys. Do you offer internships?
That was amazing. Thanks. You made a lot of things crystal clear.

Do supermarkets use a distributor? Or do brands deliver directly to them? Same goes for places like Whole food and Fresh and Easy?
+Jesse Jimenez Yes they use distributors or they use they distribute their own stores or you can self distribute if you have an agreement with the vendor (supermarket) you might have to pay shelving fee to get a prime spot or start at the bottom of the shelf.
great talk.
