Among many of us, I wanted to thank you for uploading this. This was the only video I was able to follow and fully replace my sparks and coils. Some things I want to mention for anyone new to doing this. Make sure your car isnt still warm when unplugging that coolant line. (or dont have the bellows disconnected before hand) I had the pleasure of getting hot coolant shoot into the air filter soaking it completely. and make sure you dont press too hard on the coil pack clips, I ended up breaking 3 out of the 6. Removing the battery makes this job a lot easier.
thank you for making this! i was able to get some new spark plugs in my car and it took me like 5 hours :)
1:05 on the other end of that vacuum hose is a fitting that's pressed into the valve cover. The fitting in my GF's 2005 keeps popping out and causing a massive vacuum leak. There's no damage to it, save for the fact that the tabs had been bent in, which I alleviated somewhat by boiling the piece in some water for a half hour, replacing the O-ring and reinstalling. Problem is it STILL doesn't fit snugly enough to keep from popping out. Is there a replacement available for this, or even a good way to secure it?
I’ve got this exact problem and have no idea where to begin. It’s a nd throttle adapter from Nikon FE to Sony E mount but with a nd throttle.
I have a 2009 mazda 6... do you know if these acceleration bodies go out of calibration if they are manipulated by hand?
As long as you disconnect the electronic control connector before you clean the TB, it shouldn't go out of calibration.
Well done, educational with history and a great route.
Thanks for checking it out, and for the positive feedback. I hoping to have a few more videos completed in the not too distant future. So please subscribe so you will get notification when I upload new videos. Thanks! IITFDIY
Very nice video, man. Very professional.
Damn, you weren't kidding about actually **fabricating** one of these suckers... Heh, I found your vid from looking around for tips for how I plan on DIYing one of these by just welding a piece of sturdy steel to the toe shifter's pivot-base, another peice of some small steel tubing to the end of it perpendicularly for my foot interaction & then call it a day after I adhere a few layers of marine heat shrink tubing to it for grip. It's a good thing I don't easily become self-conscious whenever I feel like I'm half-assing something by comparison, hahaha
Hey Kurt... glad you enjoyed the video. Thanks for the positive feed back. If you could click the thumbs up that would be great. Thank you IITFDIY.
@@ironsinthefirediy6258 You betcha
I'd be interested to see how yours turned out. Have you any pictures?
Impressive
Glad you enjoyed the video. Thanks for the positive feed back. If you could click the thumbs up that would be great. Thank you IITFDIY.
Fantastic production! Glad I was able to assist with the Stoney Creek battle footage. A great tour!
Glad you enjoyed it!
regarding the plug gap, my manual said it is 0.054-0.057 in, 2007 Mazda 6 V6 sports wagon. confused.
It may depend on the type of spark plugs you are using. If you are using NGK Iridiums then I think the proper gap is .044. If you are using an Autolite, Champion or another brand then the gap could be .054 > .057. I would recommend the NGKs only because they have never failed me.
Anymore videos like these of the v6 mazda is a heck yeah it's probably the most unreliable car there is.
Hi W.G., Yes, I will have some more Mazda 6 videos coming, but I have been working on some different videos I will be uploading soon. So it will be a little while before I get the Mazda 6 videos finished and uploaded. I'm glad you like them, in the mean time enjoy some of the other videos on my channel and the others coming soon. Thanks, IITFDIY
Thank you for creating this, its a very helpful walk through. Was it the labor that took 3-5 hours or a combination of what to unscrew & remove?
It may only take you about 2 hours to do the job. I've done this job quite a few times now, it only takes me about an hour and a half. Most of what took the time when I filmed it was doing the job combined with the filming. A lot of start and stops and moving camera angles etc.
@@ironsinthefirediy6258 Youve got a subscriber for all that work lol but I have one more question: I just realized the Mazda 6 you worked on was an 07. I have a 2010 (09-12 model) mazda 6 with the 3.7L engine. Do you think the steps will be the same for my model? I have a repair model book but I can't seem to find the directions on removing this part of vehicle
@@Jojoe143 I haven't done any work on a 2010 Mazda 6. It's quite possible its a very similar design only bigger. Take a look at it to see if it looks similar. Although some of the torque settings will probably be different. If you can find a work shop manual, they are really handy. I'll see if I can find out anything and let you know.
Hi Jay, here is a youtube link for a Mazda cx-9 plug change. It's a 3.7 Ltr V6 so probably pretty much the same as your 3.7. Hope this helps you. ua-cam.com/video/gPZrjQY0g5E/v-deo.html
Hello I dont mind your not licensed you look like you know what you are doing. Lol.. I can buy the plugs and what ever you need if you accept. If not yes plese I will take the garage number and name . With Thanks Rick
Hi Rick, if you are in this area. Here is the name of shop I recommend. They do great work and at a reasonable price. Budget Exhaust & Automotive. 4179 Harvester Rd, Burlington, ON (905) 681-4579.
Thanks for the replay ..I would like for someone to instal the plugs and clean throtle botty when it gets warmer for cash. Rick
Hi Rick, I'm flattered that you would want me to do this maintenance on your vehicle. The reason I post these videos is to help out people who feel they want to tackle the job on their own. I grew up around a garage and learned a lot from the auto mechanics that worked there. As I am not a licenced mechanic, I don't repair other peoples cars. But I can recommend a local garage that does great work at a reasonable cost, if you like. IITFdiy
How much do the roughly cost
Hi Karlynn, I buy my NGK iridium spark plugs from Canadian Tire, when they go on sale. A lot cheaper that way. But you can buy them from any auto parts store or even the dealerships will have them but probably more expensive. I recommend NGK iridium plugs. You can get a set of 6 on sale for between $40 to $50. Regular price will be about $85 to $100 Cndn.
Where do you get the parts?
You can get the NGK spark plugs at pretty much any auto parts supply store. Eg. Canadian Tire, Partsource, NAPA Auto Parts, Any car dealership etc.
Very helpful video. thank you.
I hope it helped you with your tune up ; ). Thanks for checking it out!
great video
Glad you enjoyed it!
are you in canada
Yes, I'm in Canada.
