The official name of Für Elise is Bagatelle Number 25 in A minor, written by Beethoven in 1810. Though it is a mystery for whom Für Elise was written, it is highly speculated that he wrote the piece for a love interest, Therese Melfatti.

Fun fact about this song: Beethoven wrote this for his love Elise, which was one of his students back then; and her ability to play the piano wasn’t that good. So beethoven wrote the first part of this song to be easy, but when he found out Elise had a fiancé he got angry and sad so he decided to write the second part of the song in a harder manner so Elise wouldn’t be able to play the song fully.
If true, he did a good job of it!
