Try turning down the water pressure by slightly closing shutoff valve going to the refrigerator. This will keep water from splashing when ice maker is filling up and creating an ice dam.. You can also tell if pressure is to high if water sprays all over when you use the through the door water dispenser. Hopefully this simple solution fixes the problem for everyone.

Hey! I appreciate your videos. Thanks for sharing. :) I currently work for Amazon at one of their fulfillment centers. It's pretty taxing on the body, and wanted to move into more of an "Office work" environment. I'd like to stay with Amazon, but doing what you do. What type of experience would someone like me need in order to get hired? I have zero customer service experience but am very eager to learn. What steps would you recommend i take. Also, water constantly leaks from the ICE maker to the water dispenser causing damage to the doors, refrigerator and lower doors. The problem got so bad that we now keep a washcloth or towel where the drip water tray uses to be. Very aggravating. Spoke with Samsung 01/12/19 and they won't stand by their product.

This ICE maker is the worst Product. Our ICE Maker freezes up (less than 4 years old). The ICE Maker is not competitive with other refrigerators. I wish Samsung would make good on offering a solution that works at a reasonable price (correcting the problem). I would not purchase this product had I known how poor the product is. The old school Frigdeair Refrigerator ICE maker is 100% better. I love the 4 door Samsung refrigerator but would stay away from the Samsung produce (stay with Frigderair or whirlpool, they have great ICE makers).

Dude at least be happy you have ice I have a Samsung refrigerator ahead and have ice and two years Samsung only fixed it once and they refuse to do it again I will never buy another Samsung product as long as I live

Government standards for tapwater are actually tougher than government standards for bottled water. Most tapwater’s are cleaner than most bottled waters. when I taste water from the tap at my house compared to water from the fridge that is filtered. The tapwater taste gritty and like chemicals.. when I do get water from the fridge that is filtered. If the water sits in the filter all night and I first get water that has been actually sitting inside the filter all night, it also tastes gritty. So I always run about a half a glass of water and throw it away when I get water from the fridge first thing every day. If those filters are actually collecting chemicals and particles while they are filtering, I’ve often wondered if I’m getting a higher concentration of chlorine and chemicals like fluoride in my water at an increasing level, the older the filter gets. Because the water coming through the filter is being subjected to higher concentrations of filtered chemicals.

I am so unhappy with my Samsung ice maker....They should replace everyone's. I had a problem ever since I purchased it....I bought my 2015 so I am not in a warrantee any longer. I called them when I first had the problem and they were not nice.

I find out it's easier driving in thick snow than driving melting snow.

Bought Samsung nov 2016 Ice maker replaced TWICE and resealed .after 4 repair visits it froze again. Lucky i bought 5 yr war Lowes protection plan refunded full purchase amount plus tax 3 yrs to the day after purchase. Refund in form of lowes refund card . Ordered a whirlpool fridge which they will deliver free when they come out to pickup the Samsung Water Torture Device. Did i purchase another 5 yr warr ???? You betcha!!!!! hey i’m 18 and i’ll have had MCD for 2 years soon. I’m also steroid dependent , currently on prednisolone, Ramipril and Tacrolimus. I understand your frustrations- these steroids seriously mess with you physically and mentally. I find your post really inspiring and I think it’s important more people speak up about their illnesses. Next year I hope to be going to medical school depending on my exam results. Samsung has replaced/upgraded/sealed my icemaker 4 times in the past 2years. It still freezes up every 1-2 weeks. I now use ice cube trays in my $3k refrigerator. There is a class action lawsuit against Samsung about this problem. Google it.

I also have MCD. I went to Cleveland Clinic in Ohio, they gave me prednisone and chemo. Once I’m off the meds the disease flairs up and I’m back on the meds. At this point I’m on prednisone and chemo infusions. This is a rough disease. Stay strong.

never use a hair dryer to defrost the ice maker. Melted plastic ruins the fridge. always use a steamer .

The reason this problem persists is because your fridge isn’t leveled right. The front wheels on a Samsung should NOT be touching the ground. Adjust the legs so that the wheels are about a half inch off the ground and you’ll never have an issue with this fridge. I’ve been posting this fix on almost every video regarding a Samsung fridge freezing problem. Defrost the fridge completely and raise the front up like I said.

I had the exact same experience. They fully replaced the unit and what do you know a month later my ice box is frozen solid again and Samsung won't do anything again. Hairdryer and towels once a month. Never buying Samsung appliances again

I have the same issue. The repair man says it can’t be fixed. The only solution is to use a hair dryer to melt the ice. I’ve tried so called fixes like sealing the case but that didn’t help either. So, the only solution is to use the hair dryer every week or two. My suggestion is to return any Samsun if you can and never buy a Samsun product.

Mine did that also and for the past 12 months. It stopped making ice. It first worked fine but then it would start freezing up. Out of warranty. I ended up buying buying the parts , ice maker and ice try. And replaced the ice maker my self. Also the parts numbers changed.
