    Thanks for this video man, im installing the avenger driveshaft next week and i was thinking id have to actually completely remove the cv axles but i seen how you just took that one bolt on the a arm to drop the wheel knuckle to allow it to come out of the differential

    • @quadzilla819
      @quadzilla819 2 місяці тому

      happy to help and share the information. It is a much easier way if you do not have to replace wheel bearings and such. remember to use marine grease on the ends of the axle when you put them back in.

    Thats pretty sweet man! Yeah ive been thinking of relocating my radiator on my 2016 because it gets plugged up so easy being in the front...its such a terrible design from yamaha...but the relocation kits are expensive

    • @quadzilla819
      @quadzilla819 2 місяці тому

      Yes they are. This cost me a total of about $50 and my time to do this relocate. I think it turned out pretty good. I may yet upgrade to the larger radiator, but the jury is out on that.

      We were riding in West Virginia. The 800s is a very under rated machine and it is my go to (even though I also have a YXZ) If you just bought one I also have a video on tips, tricks, and things to look for on these. They are a tank and I love mine to death! If you scroll thru the videos it was published last October (2023)

    do you have any idea on how to remove the rev limiter on these 800s?

    • @quadzilla819
      @quadzilla819 3 місяці тому

      That would be something that would have to have the PCM flashed and the limiter changed. I am not sure who you would have to contact to do that, BUT....I would caution on doing this. The 800 is a pushrod motor, unlike most others on the market, which are overhead cam. If you go too high you take the risk of bending a pushrod to the valves. They have natural deflection just like a car, but in a car you upgrade these when you increase the horsepower. I have seen power increases done to them but I am not sure what the cost to reliability is. The 800s, for the most part, is pretty indestructible. I have not had a lack of power on any HMT trail I have been on. It is just a matter of knowing if you will have momentum, or do you need to run it up in low.

    • @quadzilla819
      @quadzilla819 3 місяці тому

      I would start with a uni filter, or KN, tuner, and a decent exhaust and go from there (which is what I have done). I am very happy with mine and sometimes regret the YXZ I purchased this spring. Its not that the YXZ is a bad machine...far from it. It is that I did not need it since the 800s is such a great machine.

    I’m assuming by the sound that’s an 800? What size tires are you running?

    • @quadzilla819
      @quadzilla819 4 місяці тому

      I have 27" bighorns in the rear, 27" ITP sniper 920's in the front. I liked the snipers so much that I put a full set of those on my YXZ. bighorns are an excellent tire but just dont last if you get any kind of road miles. I put them on at the same time and the bighorns are about 5/8 tread now and the snipers are 3/4 tread or better. they have about 1000 miles on them.

    • @quadzilla819
      @quadzilla819 5 місяців тому

      My sway bars are disconnected, rides super smooth but you will have body roll in turns, tires wise, hard to go wrong with a bighorn, but roads tear them up quick. I would look at the ITP sniper 920's. that is what I have on the front. they are excellent if you do any road riding, almost no road noise in fact, they are 8 ply, and a good offroad tread.....most importantly, affordable. I liked mine so much that I went thru National tire and wheel out of Wheeling WV and got all 4 for my YXZ for $660 delivered. bighorns were going to be about $1000, almost all others were that price. I have about 750 miles on them on the RZR, and probably 100 road of that. They still have some of the nipples on them. Their tread is not as deep, but last long. i put bighorns on the rear at the same time and they are about 1/2 tread.

      keep an eye on the a-arm mounts that i mention in the video, try to stay 2012 or newer. I was told the older ones had transmission issues. the front differential likes to break the spraque carrier, but it is an easy replace. only other issue i am aware of is the rear pinion nut coming loose. Have you ever done a belt change or have a video on it

    • @quadzilla819
      @quadzilla819 10 місяців тому

      I have not done one, I haven't needed to. The trick with these belt operated machines is to run it like a rental. If you are easy on the throttle it is harder on the belts. I know that sounds funny, but if you ease in, it allows the belt to slip instead of grip. There is a tool, or I have seen videos of people using prybars to open up the secondary. Once you do this, it is just a quick change out.

    • @hockeyplayer8372
      @hockeyplayer8372 7 місяців тому

      I was always told as soon as you go "off road" to put in low. Keeping rpms up saves the belt. 7k, and I'm still on the stock belt.

    • @quadzilla819
      @quadzilla819 7 місяців тому

      @@hockeyplayer8372 depends on your driving style. as long as you are not "easing" into the throttle it is not hard on the belt. the only time i have personally needed low is slow rock crawling or steep hill climbs with no momentum going in, or maybe a mud hole. i use low if i am using it in the yard for stuff.
