I have the same kit. I just cut the excess and sealed the cut with a cigarette lighter. (Diagonal cut to keep a point 👉🏼) Still haven't used it as yet. But it is interesting to see the set-up you have. Most adventure riders like Adam Riemann (UA-cam) have said to put the gear close to the front of the bike. Which you have. Should be a good thing. 👍🏼 Last year I rode Sydney Adelaide Perth. 4500km. Had a wolfman saddle bag. Also a good kit, but the straps, although held up, were a bit tattered. Adventure Moto Web page, Australia. Temu are also selling a bag called Motowolf. For motorcycles. Sits atop the pillion with tie straps. Vinyl waterproof bag.

This sort of issue is why I bought a Honda. CFMoto hasn't done a proper job of development or refinement. It will be a gamble on what else might go wrong.

It appears to be a defect from factory but it’s also very easy to replace, so wouldn’t be too stressed cause I can see a OEM replacement being made available soon.
