Head Shaving With Gillette Fusion 5 Razor -- Is It Any Good?

In this video, I am head shaving with the Gillette Fusion 5 Razor, showing how it head shaves and giving details about how it performs while mentioning other comparable razors. The Fusion 5, as was previously proven when I used and reviewed it was still a great razor for head-shaving. A bit quicker than a Mach3 and very efficient. Head Shaving With Gillette Mach3 Razor

The first cartridge razor I ever used for head shaving was the Gillette Mach3 razor. It's still a great head-shaving razor that's safe, easy and gives a close shave. This was a revisit to the Mach3 as I am testing many head shavers and razors to try and find what's best. Many guys don't need to look much further than a Mach3 but we always like to try stuff out, don't we! Here are a few resource...
Gillette Mach3 vs Mach3 Turbo - Compared Differences and Shave

In this Gillette Mach3 vs Mach3 Turbo Razor video, I compare the different features and shave using both razors on either side. The bottom line was the Mach3 Turbo seemed to be quicker to shave with. However, this was likely due to the extra lubrication from the lubrication strip that would wear off and make them very similar after a couple or so shaves. @sarsar5189 Yes, you have to pay the shipping, which is not great. It's hard to find any head shaver that lasts for many guys. It could be one of the Remingtons last better for you as I have had less reports (not zero) on them stopping working etc. Even worse reports on some of the others. I wish you luck on your next shaver anyway, and if you find something great, I would love to hear back.

    Thanks for the analysis! I'm thinking of buying my first shaver which would be for the head, however, I would need one for the body as well. Initially I thought about buying this Remington and also buying a Braun or Philips groomer and looking at options I have seen that the Braun Series 5 shaver comes with an accessory for the body and I thought that maybe I could just buy a shaver for the whole body, however, I have not found any comparison between this Remington and the Braun I guess because they are totally different shavers. If the most important thing is to be able to shave your head without the help of another person without taking too long, which one do you think is better? Do you think it would be better to buy 2 different shavers or is it better to buy just one shaver to get good results for everything?

    • @shavingadvisor
      @shavingadvisor 2 дні тому

      I generally like to use a shaver/trimmer that is dedicated to that task (i.e, head shaver for head shaving, body groomer for body grooming etc.). I am yet to find a shaver or even body groomer that shaves my body (chest etc.) well enough, although the Philips I have used are not too bad. If you are looking for what shavers I rate the best out of what I have used for head shaving, then do check out the best head shavers video, that should help. Out of the RX5 and Rx7 they are both good, but I prefer the Rx7 as stated in the video. I would go with getting the right shaver/trimmer that it is designed for, you'll get a better job done (there are exceptions, but nit many). I hope that helps somewhat! Do check the other videos and my website for other reviews (lots on the website). Good questions, thanks.

    Hi mate. The only but constant problem I've always had with Remington products is the lack of replacement blades you mention in the video. They are hard to get a hold of and once a product gets discontinued they are even harder to get. How did you cope with that issue?

    • @shavingadvisor
      @shavingadvisor 14 днів тому

      Yeah. Replacement blades, as I mentioned on the website, are the biggest challenge. This almost had me not recommending them. The RX7 blades are available at Argos at the moment. My fallback is contacting Remington, which I did when I first bought and reviewed the RX7. Remington was willing to send them out even while that was not shown as available on the Remington website. Hope that helps!

    Hi again, the plug is 2 pin (I knew that before buying) I have an adapter I use for my toothbrush and braun beard trimmer but not sure it's powerful enough for the series 3 wet dry. Braun sent me a load of jargon for the specification for the adapter plug needed but it's too hard too find any online with their description of the plug adapter. Can you help me with finding the right one please? As mine might not have the power for the series 3 wet dry as its only used for a toothbrush and braun beard trimmer which is a slow charge unlike this product which is alot faster by description.

      There are many two pin adapters you can use. This is one example here that will do on Amazon -- amzn.to/4cAU89v . My guess is the one you use for the toothbrush could be fine, but don't quote me on that. Hope that helps!

    After my emails went unanswered i filled out a return authorization form on the Groomie Club site. And within 72hrs received a response requesting i upload a video showing the malfunctions with my shaver. Ater several attempts to send the video which kept bouncing back, i received an email with a DHL tracking number for a new shaver...which i tracked directly to my former address 1100 miles away....i give up!

    I've tried loads of ways too shave. Different Razors etc. I have a sensitive neck so opted for a foil shaver instead to try and see if it makes any difference from wet shaving with all the razors out there so i bought the manscaped handyman. That still gave me some irritation. I have now purchased this product as there is a good deal on amazon prime at the moment. Would this perform well on sensitive areas of the skin? Maybe I'm pressing too hard. I always have too use an Alum block or aloe gel too try get rid of my irritated neck area no matter what I use too shave and even then it lasts about 4 days. Any tips? And could this product be good for me? Many thanks. All manufacturers just recommended telling your doctor which I've obviously also tried but can't use hydrocortisones all my life. Any info and advice would be appreciated greatly 👍

    • @shavingadvisor
      @shavingadvisor 29 днів тому

      Sounds like you are really having a rough ride with the irritation. It's hard to know if using the ProSkin 3040s is going to be good for you or not. What you can do with this shaver is shave wet with shaving cream for the first few shaves and see if you skin adjust with it well enough. I can also get neck irritation, and i learned to follow the direction of the growth better after seeing it grows in various directions. You might need to be shaving only with the grain, and not against, and see your growth directions. Have you tried pre-shave oils when wet shaving? and having you tried only shaving with the grain? Yours is a more serious case if the irritation lasts for 4 days, unfortunately.

    • @jaydoyle7380
      @jaydoyle7380 29 днів тому

      Hi, thanks for the reply. I've tried pre shave oils, got quite a few lol. Unfortunately my neck hair particularly around my adams apple grows in all sorts of directions so I think I just need too try be abit more careful and not press too hard also. Maybe this braun series 3 wet dry will help with the moving heads and if I apply less pressure and try not too achieve such a close shave 🤞

    • @shavingadvisor
      @shavingadvisor 29 днів тому

      @jaydoyle7380 Yeah...that is it--it is the hair growing in multiple directions, which is the big issue. There is a delicate way to shave with directions, but I am going to need to put a video out on that to show visuals of it. Good luck with this shaver, and maybe try with shaving lubricant first. Let me know how you get on (would be great to hear you've overcome this). Thanks for sharing with us!

    Absolute garbage, don't waste your Hard Earned money. I believe that we can guess at where these are being made. Bought my first one from Scamazon. Got 6 shaves and it stopped working. Received a replacement. 3 shaves on a Full Charge and it also stopped working. Put it on charge again and after a while, would turn on. As soon as I put the shaving heads on it, Clunk, wouldn't turn them. Getting a Refund and will but a more expensive Skull Shaver. The only thing that Remington Balder pro is good for is being good business for Skull Shaver. Trust me on this, don't waste your money on Chinese Junk from Scamazon.

    Ive been using the Balder Boss for a while. I definitely find it to be an upgrade over the pro. The turbo mode is best used when you've missed a shave and it grows a bit thicker than when you normally shave it. My biggest issue is that its hard to tell when it gets low on battery and it takes a long time to charge back up.

      All electric head shavers have the potential to fault, but not honoring or even replying to returns/replacements is something I can't get my head around.
