@@Addy_The_Red_Baddy I do too. Wish it had just a little bit of a bump up in HA though. To bump it into the mid-high range. High HA would make it OP, so just a that little nudge into the next stage up would be perfect. That being said, I do really love the synergy with G-Katana. And it’s an absolute menace for dmg. Although I do have it Cold infused here, so it is getting that extra burst dmg. But it still does great dmg without that.

@@DCCLXII I actually stopped on this ash, because I ran out of time in waiting for another randoms 2v2, and it just worked out so well. Pairs beautifully with the wpn. Only medium HA though, so not too good against wpns with high poise dmg that doesn’t instantly reset poise meter, but great in most other situations. Needs a bit of a HA boost imo. Don’t know why From still hasn’t given it said minor boost as of yet.

@@DCCLXIIyeah I can see it if they were to choose to nerf it on the Regal Sceptre, but not the applicable ash. That thing needs just that little bit of a nudge on HA, to the next tier up of it, for it to be balanced. Not many wpns it’s good on anyway, so there shouldn’t be an issue PVP wise, doing so.

Yup. Pretty sure it had something to do with the fact that the host was already skipping a little bit when they summoned me in, but it is what it is sometimes.😅 Also YT app did not ping me when you left this comment. App has been incredibly wonky lately. Not pinging me for comments, replies, etc. and yet, I get pinged on the YT studio app. Just weird.

@@SchwiReaper I’m guessing it was a higher NG+ I got summoned into. The main focus of the vid was that the host’s net wasn’t the best, so when I went back to the game screen, after the cutscene, the battle was already going on again. So I was hit before I got a chance to know what was going on, or to react. Weird thing is I swear I got my shield up in time to at least absorb it some, guess not though. Guessing the Atk was out of sync so I was still late to guarding, even though it looked like I wasn’t.

DLC brought back all the COD normies that think Ultra-greatsword is meta and spamming backhand blade while glitching is skilled gameplay. PVP is infested with these people right now and its an absolute mess 🤣

Yeah Colossal Swords definitely took a hit or 2 with 1.12 and 1.13, but they’re still viable thankfully. It’s a shame what’s been happening with HTS for too long now. They keep mistakenly nerfing it and not TS. HTS’s first handful of nerfs made it balanced, but now they just keep getting it mixed up with TS and nerfing it instead. Hopefully they realize this error and bring it back up a bit.

@@corbincavitt635 well we’ve (PVP playerbase) still yet to confirm as to whether it’s a glitch, or just a really un-thought-out intended thing in the game, but regardless of which it is, it’s still absolutely cancerous for someone to use in any other setting than as an invader against a gank. And yeah😅 it is good to see them just outing themselves as players who use this sort of thing, like this.🤣 Best part is it’s still generating traction for the vid, which will in turn bring in more than just players like that.

@@1990rable well the toxic players, shitters if you will, whether alone using toxic things or just spamming, or with their ganking shitter friends, do it solely to agitate players and drive them up a wall. They’re not better, they do it simply for that reason. Good players, either in skill and or as people, do it back to them, as a response to send a message to them. That they’re not good, and even when they spam, cheat, or just use toxic setups like this player I was dueling, they still lose at the end of the day. It’s not so much stopping to their lvl, as it is reminding them of theirs. Hope this helps and answers your question.

@@1990rable yeah unfortunately there’s no escaping the toxic players. Been that way in these games for a good long while now. Only so many times you can get point down and t-bagged by spammers, shitters, gankers, players with setups like this guy, before you have to retaliate a little bit of the toxicity, in moderation ofc though. We’re not on their lvl.

CS would’ve definitely been the best play against him using this setup, but I was trying not to.

@@aegis_-._.__.-- Elden Ring, at least for PVP, seems to cater a lot more to players that just love to spam. Anywhere from ashes, to spells, to just mindlessly button mashing. Or you get stuff like this cancerous, no skill needed, nonsense. In invasions it’s fine, as it is open world and also you’re usually outnumbered due to the 4p instead of 6p world limit. But in arena it becomes cancerous. I’m just leaving the comments from bad and toxic players alone for other commenters to respond to them. Not much point in entertaining their taunting because them merely commenting is enough to generate views and traction for the vid. They’re outing themselves as players who use this setup in doing so anyway, so I figure I’ll just let them do it to themselves and sit back and watch.😅

@shallowglaive7892 It definitely caters to new players, so many ash of wars/spells come out hella fast and are dumb op. Most are easy to dodge, with some exceptions ofc, but easily dodged or not, it just makes the fight boring, and if you do slip up then 90% of your health just disappears. Yeah I can agree with that, invading it's to be expected because people go in with the expectation of getting ganked. I still hate how the invasion system is in ER, practically punishes you for wanting to PvP through that. I was surprised to see so many negative comments lol, figured everybody would be annoyed by this crap 😭.

After all the patches PvP isn't nearly as bad on launch, but the main thing that made me stop PvPing in ER was some dude with a billion spells spamming them, then, when I got close to hitting him, just used bloodhound step to get away, pre-patched bloodhound step was so annoying man lol.

@@aegis_-._.__.-- I have to say, despite all the continued catering to players like that, they are in fact really listening to the PVP playerbase for once in all of their Soulsbourne games. Might not be addressing and fixing every little thing and or every major problem, but it’s a start to show that they’re actually willing to listen now. And they’re also not over-nerfing or over-buffing things nearly anywhere as much anymore. They were really bad about that in these games for the longest time.

@@shallowglaive7892 I only ever do PvP against a buddy so I haven't noticed any significant differences in the overall PvP experience, tho recently we've tried some colosseum fights and most were good, so I guess there's that, except for one dude with the bear claws + bleed + L2 spam. That shit was awful 💀.

It’s not a playstyle, it’s a scapegoat to not have to play or try at all. The ash and sorcery combo is making it to where you can’t be locked onto or really seen that well. When you pair it with the wpn he was using (wpn itself is fine) and his lat, it makes it to where he’s practically untouchable. In invasions it’s fine, since it’s open world, and less toxic but in arena it’s toxic and pathetic since you can’t do a whole lot in response to it. Also this is a Soulsbourne game, so it’s just part of the game to do that to people. Not like other games. It’s not “cringe” to do that. Didn’t know people still used that word, in that way, unironically.

@@Sleeepy. yeah the ash makes you harder to detect, and the sorcery makes you invisible. Putting them together makes you both see through and unable to be locked on unfortunately. FromSoft hasn’t done anything about it, so either it’s another one of the things they haven’t addressed, or it’s just something that was intended (loosely intended in this case). I had answers for it, but a friend asked me to try to get only kills with GUGS and or the ash I have on it, so I didn’t swap. Understandable. I just figured you were just acting like a bunch of other people on the internet that just throw that word around like candy. It’s like it’s just their go-to word for anything and everything, to seem cool and present themselves as above everything. Same with “mid”. But if you genuinely didn’t like seeing it, that’s fine, to each their own. I’m not gonna really talk against it if you personally didn’t like seeing it.

@@shallowglaive7892 no you goofy, not being able to lock on to an invisible enemy is a game mechanic, not a glitch. It's just like anything else that goes invisible, you can't lock on to it, defeats the whole purpose. Until Fromsoft comes out and says it's a glitch, which it's not cuz they're enemies in the game that do the same exact thing, it's not a glitch.

@@EKk8819 Unseen Forme makes you invisible, yes, but applying Assassin’s Gambit with it removes lock-on. Using either separately will not net you freedom from lock-on. Gambit also makes you harder to see, but doesn’t remove lock-on. It works like the new Lamenter torch that makes you harder to see for a period of time.

@@Addy_The_Red_Baddy yeah most players don’t either zigzag or just free aim with it, so they get easily parried. Free aiming it allows for dead angling, so hard to parry then, and zigzagging can also do that.

Also yeah that’s just such a good ash.

The other guy was glitching. Impossible to lock on to with the glitch he was using. OP was lucky he sucked.

@@theninjapenguin1862 he had inconsistent lat, was using the toxic pairing of Assassin’s Gambit and Unseen Forme, on top of Backhand Blades, and they were Poison. The only good thing about the fight was when he died.

@@theninjapenguin1862 well I’d dueled this guy 2 other times that night, so I already knew he had really inconsistent lat. Typically I’ll play with a mix of lock-on and unlocked, as the battle flows. But this guy I needed to stay locked on. And he knew it too, so he switched to using this setup this time around dueling him so he could just win without trying. Sad really, but a lot of players are like him.

Yeah, it would’ve ended a lot sooner, in multiple instances, but the dude had considerable lat that I just couldn’t peg down because it kept fluctuating. But I’m still happy with a draw against lat like that. At least it wasn’t a loss.😅

Shouldn’t be dueling rn anyway, given that the current state of duels, post-early-into-the-DLC, is just spammers using solely DLC wpns and just being annoying. No actual players. But sometimes the people I play with aren’t on yet, so I kill time doing a few duels.

Hopefully so. Stuff like this shouldn’t necessarily exist in a portion of a game that took a whole 2yrs+ to come out, but it is what it is I suppose.

Yeah I was laughing my ass off at that epic predict so far ahead. Usually I go for shorter distances ahead of people when I free-aim, but this one is said fuck it and did it way ahead, because of how he was moving during the battle. Worked out great.😅🤣

If the pillars weren’t there, I might’ve passed off the patterns he ran in to just be larger spacing, at first at least. But no, he had to try to use the pillars as ways to not only run away, but also to try to turn & burn me.
