    As a fellow woodworker, and nearly blind guy, I totally understand what you have to deal with. It does become extremely irritating from time to time. In Apr 2000, the retina in my right eye fell.. twice. The 2nd time was 3 weeks after surgery. At the time, it was my dominant eye.. of course.. The Dr.'s weren't able to fix it a 2nd time, leaving me completely blind on that side. Since then, I've had a cataract in my left and a "leakage" a few years later. Thanks to my sister in law who works for an optometrist here in town, she introduced me to another Dr. that makes a monthly trip from Wichita, Ks. After 3 visits with him, involving 3 sets of shots in my eye, the leak was fixed and I am still able to see, although not nearly as well as most people, but as the saying goes.. "something's better than nothing". Every day is a challenge to keep my spirits up and yes, sometimes I feel like giving up. So finding your channel helps me to feel a little better about my difficulties and I thank you for that. I wish you well and keep your head up high. You are an inspiration and I'm looking forward to seeing more of your content. Peace be with you, my fellow blind brother from another mother. Cheers! 👊🏼😎🍻

      Hi Ron, thank you for your kind message. It sounds like we've had similar experiences... I was diagnosed with stargarts in 2001 and lost my left eye in an unrelated accident in 2003, but I've aways live making things. So was determined not to let my sight loss stop me. I'll never be a fine woodworker but I'm ok with that. Thanks for watching and have a great christmas!

    Hi Marc, great video, the idea for the coaters was very good. I will be using this idea in a future build. One thing that concerns me a little Marc. I lost my sight in my right eye a couple of years back and this hit home to me how terrible it would be for my wife and family if I lost the sight in my left eye, through some accident I had when woodworking in my shed. I swore to myself I would wear eye protection whenever I had to switch a machine on, for any reason. I know they are a pain in the arse, especially when you have to get so close to your work to see what is happening with the wood, but a good quality, well fitting pair of safety specs is a good investment for me and I think it could be for you too. I don't want to come across as holier-than-thou, it is just that I like to see you working and putting out these projects, it inspires me. Again, good video and your project results are excellent. Really like these coasters. Kevan from Western Australia.

    Great job with the wheel barrows ! I will be making some of these for our house for decorations..Thank you so much..I have severe spinal cord problems so I am addressing your blindness..First off don't give up your wood working...There are med beds coming soon.So there is a silver lining to the dark clouds surrounding us. Some cancers can be cured in 5 minutes and they say the beds can cure any problem known to man..Even grow new limbs .So we have to be patient..The last word I got was it will be let out in the new year...Tesla Med Beds look it up ...Good luck!God Bless!

    Put the magnet on the extraction chute. Catches them automatically when you sweep it in.

    Harbor Freight and Amazon sell a magnet thats made specifically for this. Much cheaper than a N52 Neodymium magnet.

  • @brookelord3448

    Quick tip. When someone throws out a speaker, cut it open and get a free magnet that's bigger and stringer. Better tip: put a lid for a plastic container on the magnet. When you're ready to take the metal off, put the lid on the container, then remove the magnet from the lid. Use any scrap of metal to hold the lid on the magnet.

      Those magnets pale before rare earth magnets. The have a much shorter life span and are nowhere near as powerful.

    or... a dc coil around the pickup tube.. screws will be stuck to the wall of the pipe while on.. off they drop down.

  •  6 місяців тому

    Here's a lot cheaper way. Put a narrow ended tip. A lot cheaper than a fishing magnet and does both jobs at the same time. Or don't keep spooning ya screws haha

    • @kellyvcraig
      @kellyvcraig 6 місяців тому

      BUT the so called fishing magnet (rare earth magnet) has many other uses. It can be used for yard clean up after siding, roofing or other projects are completed, for example.

    Nice tour, I have roughly the same sq.ft space of a one car garage and it is always interesting how other people organise their space. I found mine a bit packed with all the tools and machinery and always look for the inspiration. Nice shop though, well organised and with enough of space to carry all projects. I have more or less the same tool set as you, more or less the same sq.ft. but somehow yours looks more spacious)) Good luck with the channel, hope to see nice inspirational builds and DYI projects!
