I often use Google Keep where I keep list of my hashtags separated in groups like general philatelic hashtags used in all my Instagram posts, and topical sets of hashtags for example for comic books. It spares me a lot of typing, especially on smartphone. I use destop mostly but copy-pasting and "recycling" hashtags is timesaving (and helps avoiding typos) As I'm not "orthodox" I use construction paper of different colours for purely aesthetic reasons. Instagram's "tile" structure works this way for me as my leading topics are from pop cultural sphere (movies, books, comics, cartoons, non-classical music etc.)

I love birds, and also recently started with a topical collection of birds. Bird stamps are to die for - they can be SO beautiful. I enjoyed this interesting presentation by Felix so much. Thank you! I am a taxonomist (scientist) and it was interesting to me that Felix also included the taxonomy and nomenclatural issues of the Todidae. If I may - sorry, I don't want to be critical - the genus and species name must always be in Italics. It is a rule. I also most of the time see that the genus and species name on stamps are not in italics. The only time when it is not in Italics, is when the genus and species name is used within italic text. Thank you again, Felix. Oh, and I should say: the Todidae are absolutely beautiful and adorable birds.

Greetings from Mississippi, thank you for your comment and feedback. I really appreciate it. You are correct that the genus and species name must be in italics. The font set that I used was Comic Sans for the titles and True Typewriter for the genus and species. Unfortunately, the True Typewriter font does not allow me to use bold or italics. In the future, I will ensure that I select a family font that will allow me to use italics. The 2015 article which I co-authored used italics... What I did not know, was the exception on when italics is not used. The use of italics on stamps ... This is something that I would like to obtain more information about from the Citizen Stamp Advisory Committee (CSAC) and art directors. The criteria to select fonts, typography may be based on what looks better and blends with the actual image, art and colors. Thank you. v/r Félix ATA ambassador Philatelist www.iboricua.com

Hi Felix, from my side, thank you for your complete reply! I appreciate it. First I didn't want to comment about the italics, because your presentation was more than that. 🙂 You really took collecting bird stamps to a next level, and noticing the wrong scientific name, was already excellent. Your presentation gave me direction for my own bird collecting. Thanks for that. I hope you will present more talks on philately in future! Greetings here from an ex-South African in New Zealand. 🙂 @@thisisphilately

For the kangaroo one I was thinking of it’s almost considered as one of the symbols of Australia as well so both carrying the baby safe in the poch approach and being one of the symbols adds value to the message being shared on the stamp. Thx for this topic. I came across a few of such stamps but never thought of building s mini topical with them. I feel inspired.
