AI In Librarianship Trends, New LTI White Paper, and Choice Reviews of AI Products
In the second episode of this two-part series, Daniel Pfeiffer, the social sciences editor and LibTech Insights (LTI) editor at Choice, chats with TAF host Bill Mickey about general trends in AI librarianship, the forthcoming white paper from LTI, and Choice’s decision to begin reviewing AI products.
First, Daniel predicts that “AI” will be exploited as a buzzword to market new products, making it more difficult to identify legitimately useful AI tools. In the midst of this marketing frenzy, Daniel sees librarians searching for practical applications in their day-to-day functions and underscores the growing import of AI literacy. Next, our guest provides an overview of the upcoming LTI white paper that proposes a new framework for AI literacy based on interviews with librarians who instruct students and faculty on AI use. Last, Bill and Daniel preview the new Choice Reviews Rubric used to evaluate AI tools and reveal when Choice subscribers can begin to expect these reviews.

I am writing an ebook with many UA-cam and web page links that should remain stable for the readers. So, I am considering the Wayback machine for this purpose. What is unclear to me is where the stable URL that the Wayback machine creates is; in other words, which should be the final URL that I should give to my readers?

Lorraine Wochna was extremely unprepared for this interview. It's a shame, a Mexican American talking head could have participated instead. The documentarian culture still lacks diversity. It's a black and white community. The Mexican origin community makes up 13% of the entire US population.

We are the APA style people and we will now - against all conventions throughout science - decide out of nowhere, to have figure number and title above the figure and a "note" below it. We sincerely hope the world will follow, and we'll start with all psychology professors to have to now correct their students to actually NOT follow APA guidelines for sensible formatting. Good luck with that.
