Frankie Rose And The Outs @ Coco 66 (CMJ show)

This was a CMJ show that also had Light Asylum and Tamaryn on the bill. Really enjoyed shooting these girls, hopefully next time there will be a little more light and not the kind that was being used, LED's and DSLR's do not seem to play well together, hence some rolling shutter issues. Also, whoever was doing the mixing board that night kept the vocals real low.

What started out as a pillow fight turned into a camera fight with many people shooting this Union Square NYC tradition. I only shot for the first half hour or so but when I went by much later there were still some stragglers and their pillows.

@sonicvisionmedia yeah man, tell me about it...this show is what forced me to go out and buy a Beachtek adapter and Senheisser shotgun mic for the 5D. Thanks for the good word.
Wow, great looking video. Definitely too bad about the sound, but I know how that goes. Try using a decent portable recorder, like the Zoom H2n or H4n. The H4n is handy as it has built in mics and line ins (on separate tracks from the built in mics), buddy up to the sound guy and see if you can get a board feed and then you have a controllable mix that isn't too hard to sync to video later. This would be killer with the better sound.

who the fuck were all the posers behind the dj? I was there man and they seemed convinced that there were sent by God = hipsters. lOved everything else about the night, Tommie kicked ass but FDH was dissapointing..and I'm a huge fan.
