He's a writer and director. At 18 he borrowed money from his mother who was also his teacher and wrote 25 poems that he sold and made his money back. He founded the St. Lucia Art gilled. The Trinidad theater workshop he also founded. He won many awards over the years but his greatest award was when He won a Nobel prize for literature, the first writer from the English speaking Caribbean.

Who benefited from the fire? A crown colony with significant external interests, not as profitable as the earlier years. Colonialists foreseeing independence on the horizon. Naive St. Lucians ....smh....Which companies got the bulk of the insurance payouts? How has this impacted the historical facts of St. Lucia? .....Where is the evidence of the source of this fire? ...Interesting!...but the half is yet to be told! Too much of the real history of st. Lucia is obscured to believe any of the narratives written by self proclaimed historians from colonialist plantocracy families. Among the most white washed history ever, transferred from one generation to another, no questions asked. "Tim!! Tim! bois coeur!!... A bunch of tantalizing folklore....

the scariest part of being lost in the forest was the danger of getting bt and not being able to get to VH in the allotted time. We slept on the rocks by the river and it started to rain and our body temp was warmer than the rock, I was waiting to see if a snake would cuddle up .

Just amazing watching footage of these pictures. I, as a child, was caught up in the Castries fire of the early 70's. I have tried to find information of those years as for the past 42 years i have been living in the UK, a country I was actually born in. It's fantastic to view how the old capital was situated and designed.

I'm a st lucian student who visited the home with my art class and it has inspired me to continue with art because of his raw authentic local work. he will most surely be missed by youth like myself who grew a liking for his work.
