Haven't watched this series but this Lex Luthor is very much perfect for a more campy DC Universe. He actually does kind of remind me a bit of Gene Hackmans portrayal in just how larger than life he is.

I think he's the best Luthor so far. Which is surprising when you look at the rest of the show, especially the writing. Even in this clip, notice how "struggeling" Lena just cooperates and sits down willing at 2:44, even though the henchman just grabbed one of her hands? Nothing prevents her from standing up, she even has a free hand.

Seasons 5 and 6 in particular are some of the best tv I’ve ever watched.

28:22 this hits close to home for me. In high school, I was absolutely terrible at math. No matter how hard I studied it, none of it would click for me. Up til 6th grade I was in advanced placement for math but it all changed when I submitted some homework I struggled with and the matg teacher slammed it on my desk and said "dont you ever turn in garbage like this in again" in front of the whole class. Fast forward to high school math, and I'm retaking a test during lunch break. My teacher is grading pages in the corner, and I'm the only one there. I started crying. I felt like such a failure because I HAD studied, and none of it was sticking. Unfortunately, the teacher didn't notice (or maybe they did, and they ignored it). In the end, I got a C in the class, so I managed to claw my way out, but for a student who got nothing but As and B+s throughout school, this still didn't feel great. Now, as a teacher, I am always careful how I interact with my students. Your words can absolutely leave lasting impressions on those kids. I don't pamper them, but I will never ever harshly criticize them, and they always deserve a 2nd or more chance in my eyes.

Elizabeth Banks was phenomenal in this role. All the fun, absurd parts she took completely seriously, which made it hilarious for us. And those heartbreaking moments, you just see her character’s reluctance, regret, and resignation in her face. She’s magnificent in those. A highly underrated actor!
