Lawrence Bishnoi, the son of a farmer from Punjab, remains a powerful figure in the world of crime, even while imprisoned. He was introduced to the world of crime by Fazilka's gangster-turned-politician, Jaswinder Singh, also known as Rocky. After Rocky’s murder, Lawrence’s name started to emerge prominently in gang wars.

In 2018, the arrest of his close associate, Sampat Nehra, brought Lawrence Bishnoi into the national spotlight. Nehra revealed that Lawrence had tasked him with plotting the assassination of Bollywood actor Salman Khan. Lawrence Bishnoi faces several charges, including murder, attempted murder, and extortion.
