Returning for my 18 year to Copper Canyon, Mexico, and the Tarahumara Indians. While we do some Medical relief, I think the food we distribute is the most important thing we do.

Virginia Safari Park

Took 2 of the grandchildren (ages 7 and 10) to the Virginia Safari Park near Natural Bridge. We had a great time. Very hands on and up close. Had to vacuum out the care to get all the spilled zoo feed picked up and clean up the "llama slobber" from the doors and windows but we had a great time.

Met up with my buddy Mike who now spends his summers in Colorado. Every year he takes trail running in the high country near Pikes Peak. This year did not disappoint. Some how I survived.

Rip Kathy Roche-Wallace, loved having bacon:30 with her during the race! Awesome lady to race with.
Rip Kathy Roche-Wallace, loved racing with her. So many great memories with her.
Sorry not much of an adventure when you leave out all the adventurous stuff.Continue on that trail up the mt. they call "The Levels" to Green pond then onto dirt jeep trails if you go left over to Cellar mt.There's also old mines in the area and an old settlement called Cold Springs past Cellar mt trail down near Coal rd.So checking all the other so called adventures no one really explores the area just doing what everyone else does.
What was the name of the hotel
Was your guide named Lester? Cool looking cave!
Yay!! Great job Dr. Wortley! Stay safe & as warm as you can while you’re down there!
Who was your shuttle. I'm planning the same hike in April. thx
Hey George, you really got lost! I hope you went back and figured out what you did wrong. Green Pond, then to Mine Bank trail at Parkway then back to St. Mary's trail. See ya out there soon
Super cool 😎
Is it possible to run up the whole thing? Or is it too technical?
thank you guys,,,but that wont last for a month,,they need help every day,,
Hi George, my name is Steve Skelly. I'm going to do the Bone Norman thru trip in August. But I'm concerned about someone in my group fitting through the devils pinch. Do you happen to know how wide it is? I heard it was only 8 1/2 inches. Does that sound right to you??
I love Victor!
Victor is an Awesome place to live, I call it the Mayberry of the Rockies. I lived her since 2007 and never had a bad experience . Colorful people ,nice small town events, very low crime, 100 mile views, It has an ice rink , two museums ,Elks lodge, 2 diners , Hotel, Fishing at Scagway reservoir, Deer ,Fox and Elk roam the streets. Everyone know's everyone, In this small town of around 500 people. And of course there's always gossip of which 90% is BS .Friendly sheriff's department. If your living on the wrong side of the law you will quickly be ran out of town. Anderson & Low just made a pictorial book about Victor called "The City or Mines" . It was in the BBC news just a few days ago. Last night was the Christmas Parade and bonfire with music , hot chocolate , S'mores and singing. A wonderful place to live!
your videos are well done. thanks for sharing
This is a review off their city Facebook page. Well I lived in Victor for three years, 2007 to 2010. I was ran out of town by a vindictive ex girlfriend that was a local and a corrupt cop. While I was there the local chief of police David Bowman use to take female DUI suspects to his Victor city funded bachelor pad to "sleep it off". The locals didn't mind because he only gave them warnings instead of citations. My house was burglarized, and no progress on the case has ever been made. The Teller county sheriff's department refused to take any complaints either about any locals or the Police at the time. I once was at the local bar there and a local told me about how he stabbed a black man, and nothing happened to him. As far as I know David is wanted now for getting a 17 year old girl pregnant in Cripple Creek. It's so corrupt out there the Feds had to come in and break up the party. Pikes Peak Bulletin wrote an article about how the ATF and DEA had a special task force setup for that whole county. Victor Colorado is mostly populated by three interbred families. Teller County is full of Bigots! It's an oasis for bigots . Don't go there on vacation unless you want to leave on probation. They will make up or say anything about you, true physical evidence is ignored, and everyone there will pick up the narrative and run you out. Your white privilege won't save you there unless you're a local. Fair Warning!
Nice trail segment, I will be hiking this part of the AT in a few weeks. I've heard 'the rollercoaster' section is pretty rough, any thoughts? I've subscribed, thanks for the awesome new channel!
Great shot of Grattan!!!
Hey George, great videos! Very informative, think I ran into you last year at Cornelius creek shelter. Was with Don Rowe. I have just started making hiking videos myself. Check out my channel rooka7us.
Yes. I totally agree with the slowing down and enjoying more part.
Great vid. hope your hand was not to bad. I have been to the swinging bridge many times but could not make it up to the shelter but we did try years ago. Dave
Lord willing, my friends and I will be headed down to the orphanage this spring!! Thank you so much for posting this video!! I'm so excited!! God Bless!!
Thanks for this, George!
The breakfast station at AS #5 *saved* me. My stomach was not happy with gels or GU brew & I tossed my cookies before getting to Jennings Creek. I needed solid food -- desperately -- and this saved me -- along with the many Tums shared by sympathetic and similarly pained runners. I will be forever grateful to LU students & incredible volunteers working aid stations, an amazing community of ultra runners, Clark Zealand, and, most of all, David Horton, for a SPECIAL race.
The tenth running of the Hellgate 100K was held in warm conditions. A new mens record was set. No major injuries but 2 cases of "Hellgate eyes". Lots of tired, sore but happy trail runners. What other race do you know of that serves corn dogs at an aid station at 4 AM ? See and hear the madness that is unique to Hellgate
Dear George Many thanks for the coverage on UA-cam, and your kind testimonial. Of course, the main thing is that you enjoyed your time with us. Your footage of the summit of Snowdon was ... Bracing. That is why John Hunt took his Everest team onto the mountain in 53, and good to see that you sampled it first hand. Our thanks and best regards to your all.
next time it snows I going to try and make the climb! great video!
Hi, I have been up to the falls a few times. The trail continues if you cross the river at the falls and go up the far side. It goes up a long way to a place called Green pond. Its quite a hike as it turns into a up hill clime. The trail to the right goes to where a manganese mine was, I think its mine bank trail, not sure, that goes out to the Blue Ridge Parkway at the Priest Mt. over look, again not sure been a while. You should see the falls and hike in when the flowers are in bloom. DAVE
Good little run! Appreciate the privilege of getting to tag along on the last little bit of your AT. -Mike( yellow shirt @ 2:20)
"hellgate eyes! wonderful haha
