Royal guard is dante style where focus on blocking. If you perfect block, you'll gain some kind of meter (i forgot what it called) and refill some DT gauge. If that meter is filled or even full, you can release that to deal damage. You can perform perfect counter too

@@exe5998 sometimes, you encounter glitch when attempt royal release on vergil summon sword or maybe rain sword if i remember correctly and in results, insta-kill him. This glitch is happen on DMD too, i don't know on lower difficulty
