Many of John K Samson's lyrics resonate for me but this song is sort of special. I used to work in an office near the location he describes in the song. Returning from lunch at a restaurant on Albert Street, I had a pamphleteer try to hand me a political tract. I got angry, not because I disagreed with what he was saying but because the process was such a waste of time. All it accomplished was to make him feel better about himself but it did nothing to improve anything. The poor guy, I harangued him for a good 10 minutes (embarrassing both him and my work mates in the process.). I don't know if what I said made any difference. I guess I was just trying to make myself feel better as well.

Great band, terrific songs with amazing lyrics. You will have to listen to other albums to hear the Virtute trilogy.

I was a car crash heart who was a cry on the couch for 45 fan. Till I heard their song hand of god and felt personally called out ☠🤷‍♀🤣 They were working with pharrel and they just reached out through their label and contacts and jay z agreed to do it because it was just an intro and not a verse. Their music video getting kicked out the hood was liked by rappers and they thought they were hilarious. So they kinda fitted in with rappers more than most rock or emo bands. Also Pete is SUPER sweet and they have a really great team. I went to see them just after Manchester arena reopened that winter and it dropped to minus 10c, they gave me 2 free T-shirts and a thick hoodie. And Pete came out to sign my tickets and take pictures so we could leave. He was an absolute darling and everyone was so professional. I was invited out for dinner and drinks as a teenager by certain bands and was pleased to see their staff ignoring the thousands of young beautiful fans. They gave me am official tour crew T-shirt and were giving out guitar picks and things that fans love to collect. It was SO cold I got hypothermia that night and only waited less than an hour. And I started with 6 layers and 3 blankets. I’m in a wheelchair. So I wouldn’t have blamed them if they refused to come out when they didn’t have to and could just leave from the nice warm underground parking. And to spend 30 minutes standing talking to fans in nothing but the sweaty jeans and t shirt he performed in getting even colder made me respect Pete a lot more. He was such a dad. He was asking if anyone needed anything at all just ask. Honestly it was a great concert but people were still on edge and they were respectful of that. They definitely cut pyrotechnics. I think there was only one or two that banged. That was it. I was in the women’s bathroom when a sign got knocked down and made a loud bang, everyone started freaking out over it. Because we were right where it happened by that entrance. So lots of people just started screaming and running. I’m lucky, my partner is a trained bodyguard so he will always get me out. But yeah it definitely didn’t make me want to go back. And I have seen everyone there. It was a special place to me.

Nirvana, imo one of the most overrated bands in history, just never been a fan. I remember back in the day, I passed up the chance to go along with the lads to go and see and see them at Newcastle Mayfair, I stayed in the pub. No regrets.

If you watch the uncut version of this you will see why Dave suggested Kurt do it by himself...it didn't go well with Pat on backing vocals, at all. If you also notice Kurt's eyes are closed most of the time, he didn't need his own lyrics.
