Back to school shopping in the 90’s
June 85 baby, here! I been telling cats this for long time... cats swear the Jordan 1's just been poppin non stop for mad years....absolutely not!
Well said #tristate talk
I would say the space jams and the cool greys are what made people go crazy over this silhouette honestly and that was right at the beginning of the 2000s retro era!
I’m from Trenton,Nj 💰 my fav mom&pop was a penny candy store around the corner from my hood …then it’s Moms on 2-5th that was next door to the Apollo before the Red Lobster came called Apollo Express all heat 🔥🔥 and u never knew who u gonna run into in there #TheDaze
I'm from Fresno CA. Born in 87. So I got to see the 90s all the way through. I was not as fortunate as others, but I knew what was what threw the Eastbay, hip hop, and the drug dealers at the football and basketball games. Being from the west coast I never got into the chucks and khakis like that. I liked Polos and Baggy slacks. I was mostly influenced by east coast rappers like Jay and Method man, guru, Ghostface, fabulous, heavy D aswell.
Air max force aka Barkley fab 5 joints.
couldn’t talk about it if you ain’t live it!! Bk/ Jersey City stand up!! Keep Repping the foundation 💯
As a nigga from north Jersey myself (31 y.o.) who loves our culture, Black history and our impact on fashion, your channel is like a masterclass on this get fly shit. Thank you. I don’t know if you take requests, but would you be willing to do a breakdown of Polo and Lo Life , and the impact Polo had on Black fashion culture
They called u GI Joe and Chris cross 😂😂
“Hush Puppies ? Nahh” 😭😭😭
My whole thing if it didn’t come from the streets/ drug dealers than where it come from then / not the older black ppl / not the black pastors / not the black store owners /damn sure ain’t come from a KraKKa ..then they say the athletes, well most them niggas came from the hood 😂😂😂😂
I appreciate you shouting out Bridgeport,ct that’s where I’m from and we basically lived in new York and was influenced by hip hop from the clothes , swag. Jewelry etc but the streets where u from is where it started the neighborhood hood dudes that was getting money hustling but overall hip hop is the start of it all the culture dudes just don’t how much all this have been a factor on the development 💯
Please posterize the pic of everyone on curb in the cb94 sell it on the site.
1980 baby. I remember all this growing up. There were so many shoes to choose from. You didn't have to buy just Mike's Nike or yeezy. Cons, reebok, British knights, lotto, diadora list goes on. We kept it fresh regardless of price and brand.
Only 1 could dream….🙏🏽
“Hush puppies?? Nah!” 😂😎
Definitely had the hush puppies and it came with the lil dog 🐶 puppy doll Factz 😂😂😂😂
Homie you said it in the title this ain't for everyone but it's you keep explaining yourself. Nyc is the mecca for shopping fly clothes . Where it's hustling working or relocating you will find someone from nyc. Lil baby said it we go to nyc to go shopping,. Bro your on your page explaining yourself over and over if you know you know respect to nyc for setting the tone notthe trend.
you plucked a nerve bro! he realized he not as cool as he thought! LOL
People that aint grow up in the hood would never understand!

Born in '87 in Houston.....the Dope boyz had the nice cars, all the gold/jewelry, clean bald fades & ALL THE SHOES 👟 🤣🤣 DOWN SOUTH ⬇️ BEEN HUSTLIN TOO ‼️
My pops was a hustler..I grew up in Newark and Plainfield, and wound up going to college at Willy P. My brothers from Bergen county had a different approach to style. Not sure if their parents just made more or what. But I was one of the flyest in my city, and they ran laps around me. Once I went shopping at certain places, it changed my perspective. You can have all the money, but if your shops are terrible where you at. You not going to be but so flee..
Yes it is I’m from Kalamazoo Michigan 38 years old I feeling you my guy and you rt I don’t like people saying drip that sh!t fruit I’m from that way.
From that wayyy Fasho a kzoo cat, watching this on stadium right now😂
WtF is homie talking bout…. That dude a bird let him fly to another page. He wasn’t outside
I remember going to Harlem like 6 years ago around the Sugar Hill area and it was about 50 dudes on the block and everyone was fly. I even saw a brother with a cape on with matching AF1s.
I remember when you actually had to travel to NY or DC to get all the fly pieces . ATL a little later
Facts we didn’t think about retro’s in the 90s because there were just too many great shoes. I was thinking about that a few days ago. The fashion was crazy from late 80s to about 2000
lol streets is watchin💪 some dudes wont understand and twist your whole message up. but keep speaking on your true experience and what your eyes seen growing up in that era. quality content
People like what they like

From Philly and I never sold drugs.... But the hustlers on my block and in my family at the time got me into sneakers and clothes.... It's clear he didn't grow up in the 80s-90s to see how the streets, TV, and music influenced the hoods and beyond.... Keep the truth alive bro #Authentic 💪
Hustlas on the corner had that work . Pause
It was the same here in France with Nike Tn and Lacoste ! All related to the dealers especially in the early 90s
‼️🫡
Ain’t lying
Shoutout of the picture of major figgas in Philly Yo Philly niggas we still rock the all black or dark brown leather (not suede at all) Timberland chukkas

When I started hustling back in the late 80s I brought sneakers everyday 😂

I didn't get my first pair of J's til I was 10 I had the black 6's Idk how I convinced my moms to get em She was tired of me begging I guess Then, I hit the jackpot cause my older sister, gave me her red n whites 🔥🔥🔥 I was the golden child that school year😂 Then I got the huraches after that and had to keep a fly pair of Nikes since
That was a meannnnnnn 3 pair
These cats some goofies man keep grinding we riding with you run a lames and suckas out our lane
I’m glad you said retire both of those phrases especially that diabolical I hate that bs
Im a 80 baby. I vividly remember my brother and I wanting the Magic Johnson converse weapons and they were sold out. The guy comes out the back and said "we got these" and they were bred 1's. We looked at them like idk but my pops wasn't going to another spot, they were on sale and they were Trini colors so my pops didn't hesitate to get them. He may have spent $70 on both pair. Lol. They were $40 but if course he haggled because he was buying 2 pair and he Trini so he wasn't accustom to paying for anything at the price advertised. We wore them to school and people wasn't hype but when we went to the barber shop and the dope boys and fly niggas seen us with them it was like we were initiated into a different culture. From that day forward they looked out for us, put me on and kept me out of trouble. I never stopped wearing fly sneakers since then. Couldn't get Jordan's until they were on sale mainly because my pops didn't want us to get caught up by older kids. So I'm not gonna lie I wasn't getting Jordan's all the time but I was getting Ewings, flights, uptempos, air max, Barkley's, Pippen, Dions, Bo Jackson, Vasque, Travel Fox, Ellese, Timberlands etc. I grew up similar where my parents put me in catholic school and that actually made things worse. Lol. I wore Polo, Nautica and Tommy for my uniform and Timberlands, Eastland, Nike Boots and ACG's. I learned early how to get money. My chilling clothes were always fly. Plenty of Starter, Kani, 40 acres, Cross Colors. Then i hit older and it was Vanson, Coogi, Mitchell and Ness and Iceberg man those were the days. This video took me back.
Much love to my BX, BK and Queens family. Got some of my first fly pieces as gifts from my mans from NYC in 97’. Being in Durham,NC we ain’t have access to a lot of stuff in the early 90’s as fast as NYC. Thank God for the cultural exchanges, also you right once again fam. Peace and Keep it Thorough 🔥💪🏾
thats the main point of this NY had access to the flyest shit before any major city did! all the urban hip hop trends are just trickle downs from what started in NYC its the mecca of hip hop and its the most influential culture!
I thought I was the only one pack that drip shit up please
The clap back with the Hov verse was a power move 😂
That bangin in lil rock hbo special is a gem !
