I guess price is based on where you live...prismacolors are pretty cheap where I'm at but all derwent are sooo expensive

Hi Mona, No worries about the inky messes, they happen to everyone lol. Nice collection of inks you have. A tip for choosing inks, is you can buy samples which usually are 2mls so you can work out if you want a full bottle or not. You might also come across pigmented inks that are waterproof too. For the glass dip pen, you can actually use the back end of it as a way to swatch too which may be easier getting into the smaller bottle openings. Also rotating the pen can give you more ink, as the ink travels down the flutes in the pen. Enjoy the process of swatching and using your pens, which also look lovely. Would love to see more about your pens and ink as you continue to explore. Shimmer inks also tend to have the shimmer at the bottom of the bottle, thats why they need to be shaken up but they can settle back down quickly too. Also be careful of possible clogging with shimmer. Hope all of that is helpful. Though I am still learning as I go as well. 👍

Since you have asked for fountain pen tips: You don’t need to shake ink bottles-except when they contain shimmer. Shaking is only necessary to mix the shimmer particles evenly. And ink-stained fingers and stains on paper (and everywhere else) are all part of the fountain pen experience 😄

Beautiful pens, love the blue/green and purple/pink. I dont think I've used a fountain pen before, but I wouldn't trust myself with liquid ink. I already get gel pens all over my hands. :) That Glass pen is so elegant. Diamine Twilight color is gorgeous and I love the color of the glass pen turquoise ink.

Hi Mona! Colorful air balloons page in Kerby's book. I'm the same about needing to be in a kerbymood. But, when I've used watercolor pencils, Kerby's pages seem so much easier after that background and other elements have that base layer. Thanks for the color and chat, I like the layers you did for the background.

I would never judge. The most important thing is that you are happy with the hobby and that you enjoy it. 💕🙂 I was overwhelmed with too many sets and gave them all away. BUT... I did enjoy trying them out. 😂 I've owned two sets for some time now and I'm totally happy with them. Pablos and Polys. However, I'm pretty sure I would have Prismas if they weren't so incredibly expensive here.( and I can't buy them individually in any store here) Greetings from Germany 🙂

I hate to correct,however, the Prizma pencils are a wax based pencil where Caren d’ache are an oil based pencil.

A person with the same addiction to pencils as me lol I have yet to get an set that cost more than my prismas Maybe cause I love prismas so much I buy a new set of them instead of getting a different brand which is silly because as you pointed out you can replace individual pencils. I have the blocks of prismas which they do not sell anymore, the thinner lead, the scholors, the water colors, the drawing oencils, erasers and sharpener on and some of the markers lol I started with a 72 back and fun fact was annoyed at my parents (a little spoiled at the time) getting me that ser. I wanted a set of derwent. I got those derwent and still have them (early 90s) barely used. Then I got the new biggest set 96. Then I got the newest biggest set the 120 I skipped the next new biggest set 132. So far I have purchased 2 sets of the 150 lol. Fyi so your viewers will know ... you called prismas oil based... they are more wax based 🙂. Polychromos are oil based

HIya new subscriber here. Love these these types of videos, some really outstanding work you have achieved. A quick heads up those two holiday editions have now been made in to one book the same size as the other boh and it makes it a lot easier to get to the small details, if you are interested. Like you I go the whole hog with a hobby/ and keep all my book in a cube bookshelf from a retailer here in the uk. I have an excessive amount of stuff, take care.

You are on the road too moving from avid colourist to colouring pencil collector. I have collected all the sets of mainstream pencils and am now collecting the rare and hard to source outliers. It is an obsession, and there is nothing wrong with that (28 full sets and counting). 😊The one thing I would recommend is the full 100 set of the Derwent lightfast, they are hands down the best of all the

My son bought those pencils in the 36 set. They feel nice to colour with but they don’t layer really at all. They feel quite waxy to me but I’m just a beginner at adult colouring.
