Modding Keychron C1 - Lubed and filmed gateron browns, foam mod, soundtest
Lubrykowanie switchy smarem krytox 205g0 i dodawanie filamentu/filmu. Dodanie pianki do dolnej podstawy klawiatury.
Modding Keychron C1 - Gateron Brown Switches
Lubing switches with krytox 205g0 and adding film. Adding foam to the bottom keyboard case, and some sound tests.
I'm very satisfied with the result. It took a bit longer then expected, but definitely it was worth it. You can still hear rattle in space bar but it works for me at this moment :)

I bought a version of the Keychron C1 from their official listing on Amazon that wasn't hotswappable. Instead every switch was soldered on despite the box clearly stating: _"Hot-swappable Option: You can alter every switch in 5 seconds without the need to solder."_ That is completely false. Every pin was soldered on. And I only learned that fact after disassembling it because I couldn't get my keyswitch back into place after I gave up on trying to remove it. I only kept going because I couldn't get it back into place attempting to remove it in the first place. But by then my connectors had snapped off, and my keyswitch had warped so much, I couldn't put it back together.

I dunno, should you? Go to a Best Buy and see what the diff switches feel/sound like.

this is very late but i just got the board with the reds and it is very nice. Although i am swapping for milky silent yellows. but red is about just as good as yellows as far as sound goes.

It’s insane how well done this video is, it’s very underrated. I’d probably bandaid mod those stabs to get the least amount of rattle, just a tip.

Amazing video! Love how you incorporated stock and moded sounds at the end! I just ordered this keyboard along with some PBT XDA profile keycaps and can't wait to get my hands on it! Keep up the awesome content!

Great effort and work! Amazing sounds. I've C1 too but I didn't mod yet. This is my very first mechanical keyboard, do you have any suggestion or maybe tips for making these great mods? I'm fully open for your tools, items you bought, important things when you are moding etc.

Thank You, I appreciate that! Hmmm I'm not an expert everything I did in the video is pretty straightforward and you can find a lot of tuts on yt to really get to know what are you doing. Applying lube is something you must test yourself, it's up to your preference :) One thing that I had a little struggle with was opening the housing of the case. I was scared at first that it might break, but I learned that you can't be afraid to use some force onto it :) Have fun with it :D

Had the exact same keyboard and did the exact same mods lmao. I would say the only thing you miss is a nice deskmat (it improves the sound as well) 👍👍 and keycaps? I like the stock keycaps colourway as well so haven't changed it yet tbh.

Nice, this keyboard has a lot of potential! Stock keycaps are great, but I think I will go with nonbacklit keycaps in the future. Some things about desk mat will appear in the future on my channel :D

I worked my way around the edges with a credit card to unhinge grapples that connect switch plate to the bottom housing
