Kiwi And Canuck
New Zealand
Приєднався 12 лип 2022
We are a Kiwi and a Canuck who met in Canada and who have moved from Canada to New Zealand. We are documenting our life, adventures, travel, and experiences for our family and friends, both old and new.
We have come to believe a life without experiences is a life un-lived. We have begun a new chapter in our lives and would love for you to join us by following our journey as we look for ways to have fun, learn new things, and have experiences that enhance an appreciation of this strange world we live in as a retired couple.

Kiwi and Canuck Have Arrived in New Zealand - Intro
Is that white stuff snow?
The white is shell fragments due to the special type of beach. I found this information on it: "A shell barrier beach is a prograded coastal plain comprising shell fragments and coarse sand that is moved by longshore drift and carried landwards through wash action to form bars on the foreshore (Woodroffe et al. 1983). They are globally rare. The largest in New Zealand, at Miranda, is the only one in the world still aggrading. The shells are mainly those of little neck clams"
That's awesome ❤
Ok that’s cool!!!
Looks like a place to go on a stress day!!!
They have a series of gardens located on the Waikato river, beautiful place!
I love the intro… that’s beautiful ❤❤❤
Wow nice place to camp for sure, enjoy
Almost as nice as living on the shores of a Manitoulin lake, eating home made maple syrup!! ;)
It's hard to believe you can freedom camp so close to the ocean, I love this place!!
This is a great place to spend a day discovering all their gardens!
Such a brilliant red beek… love it ❤ never seen a black swan before!!

Visiting Ngatea Water Gardens is great place to spend a day, worth visiting!!
I love it! Nice natural lounge chair. Lol.
Love the beautiful lounger and the branch is pretty too!!❤
Do you have big tides there? It’s beautiful!!
Yes there is a pretty good tidal change in water level here. This video is taken from across a stream that empties into the ocean. The sandbar you see between the stream and the island is the actual beach. The beach has a fairly decent drop off to the water at low tide. From my vantage point sitting on the branch if someone walked across the sand toward the island they would disappear from view as soon as they started down the slope to the water. The area of sand where the stream empties into the ocean changes pretty much daily and we have seen changes in the sand (from year to year due to storms) where there is several feet of sand difference. If you look at the New Chums beach walk video you can see the tops of rocks exposed where you have to cross the stream to start the walk around to New Chums beach. This year when we first went to Whangapoua beach the rocks were completely covered in sand so you could cross the stream in only a couple of cm's of water at low tide instead of a foot or more and there were no exposed rocks till you got all the way to the end of the beach. By the time we left the area the tops of the rocks were beginning to be exposed again and the stream was around 6 inches deep to cross at low tide and you had to be careful not to stub a toe on a rock.
My Favorite beach so far in New Zealand!!
They are wild but yet tame. Amazing! This is because the government protects them and the people nurture and respects them .
Beautiful area
where is this?
It is called Uenuku Te Pou Tipua o Tūroa. Put this into google: R9FV+PR National Park, New Zealand
National Park by Mount Ruapehu
It’s beautiful!! ❤
Love walking in this stream which leads into the ocean!
Have my Fork and plate ready!! ❤ lol
Only if they are farmed!
When are you moving in?
When I win the next lottery! 😆👍
Are you able to eat them?
Apparently you are not allowed to pick them wild, they are protected in the wild, but you can buy them farmed.
Looks beautiful, and awesome video. Thank for sharing bro.
This might be my favorite place in New Zealand..so far!
