Sweet Caroline play-along iPad piano playback / @ 1:27 slower / hands separate + together idea
Переглядів 32Місяць тому
Always a good idea to practice hands separately with the recording and then hands together. To do the right hand with the recording until it’s comfortable then to do the left-hand with the recording until it’s comfortable, then do right hand once, then left-hand once after that, I would try hands together. If you go to around 1:27 you can practice it at a slightly slower tempo than the first ...

Personally, I will be using this recording to enjoy and remember •being a part of this ~as the cellist. I have had students over the years ~and seen so many method books that have “ode to joy“ as one of those pieces in their repertoire selections. Every student learning an instrument in my experience over the years at least enjoys this musical selection, at least a little bit ~ if not thoroug...

I'm curious. The song was essentially quite simple, but I thought you played exceptionally well. Flawless intonation and beautiful tone, but only 26 views and mine is the first comment and 'like'. Are you just starting your channel? I'd like to know more about you. I recently bought a cello, but haven't started playing it yet.

Anyone who wishes to transcribe the arrangement above is welcome to do that. This arrangement is not copyrighted material at the present time. I sought the full orchestration at a public domain website; I made my string quartet with English horn arrangement, as played above in the scrolling score at pitch; I also wrote out in a separate music document the English horn part for our performer, because English horn is a transposing instrument. •That English horn part would need to to be transcribed/ and transposed to the proper key, if that were the instrument used. (If you make a document for English horn performing- it would need to be in the key of C major, starting on an E natural bottom line of the treble clef staff at the beginning of the piece). Any non-transposing instrument could use this at pitch music score [such as violin, flute, oboe, etc.] or adjusted to the tessitura of the instrument, -or adjust it for transposing instrument, such as Clarinet or Trumpet, etc. It is at pitch here, the English horn part so that it can be heard in context with the piano sound score for the Quartet. (the quartet could be any grouping of C instruments, or adjusted for transposing instrument as well). _____________________ This music arrangement was written for a dear Music Colleague & wonderful friend, who died of Alzheimer’s far too early in her life; there should’ve been an extra 1/3 of her lifetime added to her beautiful years of life here on earth. Old age related Alzheimer’s is different when you’re in your 90s & nearing the end of your time on earth. When you receive the disease of Alzheimer’s 20 to 30 years before this, it is just robbery. I love the woman for whom this was written. You honor her if you use it -she was a beautiful musician and also made lovely music arrangements. Thank you for your interest in this music score. (Adding in my deepest sincerity for your support of our UA-cam channel). ♥️🎶

I stumbled upon your channel trying to find a tutorial on bach suite 1 prelude. Worked my way to this video. Everything you said in the first half of the video is exactly how I am. Ive been playing for almost 2 years. Ive been trying harder and harder to get better and to figure out why my cello playing is subpar and how to fix my technique issues to the point to where I've partially given up. I'd say I've probably practiced in total maybe 15 hours in the past 3-4 months. I've forgotten most all my songs I had learned. I don't really have the passion for it anymore just because I can't get past these hurdles of self doubt, laziness, poor technique, and so forth. But what you said struck me. My 1st and 4th fingers are always out of tune. And I do think I cup my left hand more than spreading it out. I'm going to check out some more of your videos and see if I find anything else helpful. Perhaps I'll muster up the determination to move past these issues.

I follow a UA-cam channel called That Vegan Teacher who has helped me to like oatmeal. A great way to flavour it is to take dates and add water to reconstitute them. Store in the fridge and then blend them up into a jam/paste which you can then add to your oatmeal if you want natural sweetness lots of nutrition.

Snoozing Beauty; based on themes of Tchaikovsky “sleeping beauty”, four parts, C Instruments Description: It is written with treble clef top line; three lines a bass clef. Any of the top three lines could be written in another clef. Third line certainly in alto clef as a possibility. Top two lines of the score in either trouble or alto clef. A great warm-up piece. ~•~•~•~ IMPROV OPTION(?) _________________ (?) An improvisation of a melody opportunity?…. A potential piece to improvise over the first 12 measures as another option. -> all that would be needed for this would be a map of planned performing. Perhaps: • Play first repeat whole group (Maybe first time with soloist/2nd time with group of players) • Repeat measures one through 12 ___X’s with (This person improvising)…. And then continue at measure 13. -> One could have potentially a number of people improvising in this format. ….With the final time through the piece, with the D.C. (Perhaps with a soloist on the melody again)… & to the coda. ~•~•~•~ I hope you enjoy this thought that I had, Evolving out of time spent with curious learners of the cello… and then --I came home and enjoyed composing. It was directly after a time with students: We were considering the tritone and resolution (as first seen in this piece in measure 8). We were discussing how an ostinato-like figure in the bass could have other harmonies / repeated measures of more lyrical material and nature built upon it …and then eventually a melody would emerge. How to put that together in a three page score is always a fun task that I enjoy when I make compositions or arrangements that are short presentations of musical material, But hopefully aesthetically satisfying. One does have to use the imagination to hear strings in the very rhythmic playback of my iPad in a keyboard sound. I’m feeling a bit of delight in how it turned out …from a little inspired idea at a lesson with 2 adult students learning cello for the first time for Fox Valley Symphony Sinfonia. It wouldn’t let me edit in a title. How bizarre…. UA-cam🤔🥺😢

You effort is adorable, sharing all those things on UA-cam is really nice. But something is missing in my opinion - the music. I think you're teaching the notes but where is the connection between them? Music is much more then notes and that's something you could show more - it's my personal opinion of course. On top of that I would love to see more connections between the chapters of cello playing... A vibrato that doesn't stop between each finger change and fits the musical intention for example. Why am I writing those things? I don't want to hurt anyone, I am a fulltime cellist myself (even if my profile doesn't look like that 😂) and I think it's important to reach out to the next generation and to start a fire for classical music in those children. In my opinion this can only be done by showing the soul of the music and that's what's missing. Thx for your work!
