    I think people can get useful information out of this kind of tests, as long you don't look at it like a sort of oracle, but more like a compass (eg. Am I going in the right direction or do I need to correct my course?). But some criticism is valid, this kind of tests have high correlation with lifespan, but have yet to stand the test of time.

    Kind of disappointed that Peter Attia is so misinformed and so behind on the latest technologies in the field he is considered an authority in. Loved his book Outlive and hope he can avoid confusing people in future interviews. I found my TruAge report to be insightful and useful, look forward to monitoring changes with regular testing.

    I question the accuracy of these measurements, having recently done an OMIC test ( my fourth). My A1C showed 6.4, fasting Blood Sugar 112. I did a real blood test the same week. My A1C, 5.3. ( my highest in years, it’s normally 5.0 ). My fasting BS was 79. It’s never been above 85.

    ECGC? I think he must mean EGCG. It would be great to know about more supplements, vitamins and minerals. Chocolate polyphenols, olive polyphenols, ergothioneine, hibiscus, artichoke, aronia, lion's mane mushroom, cranberry, pterostilbene, saffron, spermidine, ursolic acid, and pregnenolone. And I really would like results from toxins found in the blood: lead, fluoride, cadmium, iron (at higher than recommended), mercury, arsenic, acrylamide, advanced glycation end-products, polybrominated diphenyl ethers, and organophosphate.

    I just received my first SymphonyAge report today. I noted that my "heart age" was 58, higher than my chronological age of 56.66 (while lung age was 50, though they are supposed to be highly correlated). Your video above made it sound like factors such as heart rate, blood pressure, BMI, and weight circumference would be figured in. However, these were not requested/required of the participant, so how can they be part of the calculation? As an endurance runner, my non-blood biomarkers are excellent. So, why is my heart score above my calendar age? And what does seeing a score of 58 do for me when I already run daily and eat a whole-food diet? It doesn't say what can be done to improve it (other than things I already do).

    Would be good to study the effects of plasma donation which removes a significant but lower quantity of plasma on each round. ~25% for donation vs ~60% for TPE. Donation, which can be done monthly, is free at local blood banks in US. vs TPE which physicians in the "longevity" world are charging thousands for. Need dose response (minimum effective volume and frequency) as well as more data on gene expression and tissue changes. May be that it would take many months to see significant tissues changes. As an older person I will try to use some of the blood parameters in the 2022 Conboy paper to assess my plasma donation regime.

      It is possible that Hemoglobin A1C is just causing more damage in your body, equivalent to what 6.5 would be doing in an average person. If that is the case, maybe figure out how to mitigate that. Perhaps some supplements to fight glycation. I take benfotiamine and curcumin for that. I haven't been tested yet, so this is entirely speculation. I am actually very curious where it would put mine. I made and am using a Low Advanced Glycation End-products diet, combined with several supplements, to reduce the creation of AGEs in my body. It is not an easy diet, and almost impossible to eat out and stay compliant.

Well, that's b.s.. First, PCA in itself is a stupid algorithm, 2nd class at best and second, you can not call an algorithm "incredibly precise". stopped watching.

    • @ChessMasterNate

      Hazard ratio per year. An 8% chance of dying in a year sounds pretty dreadful to me. For most things, scientists add the hazard ratios for several years together. Often 5 years. If you want extreme, something extreme must have happened, like breaking a hip, or having a major heart attack.

    PS. There was mention of replacing old plasma with young plasma but this has many drawbacks, Instead it t would be interesting to test simple plasma donation (in older people) as is done at blood banks in the US. Each donation takes out about 25% of plasma and can be done monthly. This isn't as much as the Conboy work on NBE which took out 50% in animals, but it is a significant volume. It's also an easy thing to do unlike the multi-thousand dollar clones of the Conboy process which are being done now and in the pipeline by new startups.

    • @manojpadki
      @manojpadki 5 місяців тому

      I looked into this. American Red Cross can do plasma donation (i.e. exchange for our purpose!), but only if your blood type is of 2 specific types, which mine is not. There are several clinics in Mexico that offer plasma exchange procedures FYI...

    • @ChessMasterNate
      @ChessMasterNate 2 місяці тому

      In plasma donation, they just replace it with saline water. Problem is, you lose a lot of albumen. The liver should replace this, but until it does, you will have a low level. Albumen is a powerful antioxidant, and has many important roles. In a procedure called plasmaphereses, they basically do the same extraction, but they put albumen back as well as saline water. The downside is that you pay, and need a doctor's prescription. Donation, on the other hand, they give you money.

    • @ChessMasterNate
      @ChessMasterNate 2 місяці тому

      @@manojpadki There are at least two big companies that will take your plasma (donation) and pay you. They don't care about blood type. They process the stuff and turn it into drugs, separating and concentrating components. These are lifesaving drugs for some people.

    Thanks. On NMN and AKG, I recall a presentation, 2022 I believe, by Adam Antebi in which he showed that low insulin resulted in increased NMN and AKG. How low in humans I have no idea as I think work was done in mice or rats. But low insulin has multiple benefits and it would be interesting to correlate it with rate of epi aging. Also work by Janet Lord which showed that long time exercisers maintained their thymus and immunity well into 70s and 80s. Along with that work from Riekelt Houtkooper's lab which showed that NAD+ was preserved in older people who met certain exercise thresholds. Seems like diet and exercise (assuming no smoking and drinking) may negate the need to involve some of the interventions, like Fahey's work on the thymus, or taking NR and NMN. Would just need some work to sort out, but maybe something as simple as determining if rate of aging is slowed to maximum amount by diet and exercise regimes alone. It appeared that modest CR by itself when a long way to doing this.
