I am sure Geothermal could also consider for Vanuatu, PNG,Solomon and Tonga . These countries are located within the Pacific Rims of Fire .

Geothermal Power Plants would be environmentally friendly if those were equipped with H2S removal systems (e.g. absorbers, scrubbers located downstream the gas extraction system). This way, the H2S wouldn’t just be dispersed into the atmosphere. Hope GPP investors consider this. Some GPP in Japan already include this type of safeguards, thus becoming a model to follow.

Is h2s a concern and is it monitored at the plant? I remember burnt trees and dead animals in the study area

So long ago(70’s) We did an env survey and discovered natural pits or caves filled with dead animals that seeked warmth and shelter and had succumbed to background H2S poisoning….Hope that’s not an issue today on-site.

This has really blossomed I was a geology/environmental studies student and we were in the calipatria lease area back in 1970’s Just sand dunes and Mother Nature taking air and surface water samples and writing baseline reports…so cool This has really taken off….

I'm advised that they can be expensive to run as they need to inject special chemicals back down the wells to keep the pipies from gloging building up with mineral scale. New Zealand engineers actually lead the way back in the 1950s with only one of two GTPS operating in the world back then.
