35:30 Talking about “Jacob I loved, but Esau I hated,” the best understanding of this is: Paul is ironically showing that the roles have been reversed in his day, and that if the Jews’ historical, mean-spirited use of this slogan (“for God said Jacob I loved but Esau I hated”) was actually true, it would show that THEY were the Esau of the story. It would be like if Biden had tried to make blue-colored MAGA hats for the 2020 election when he ran against the sitting president, Trump. The American public would see those blue hats and realize that Biden’s campaign was saying that just as Trump had alleged that Obama’s presidency had lowered the reputation of America, Trumps presidency was even worse. The voting public would immediately see the irony of the statement the blue MAGA hats would be making. This is exactly what’s going on in Rom 9:13.

10:00 In Ephesians 1, notice Paul never says there are some who are NOT chosen. The reason why is because that’s not what he’s teaching. As Eph 1:11, 2:11-16, and 3:6 show, the whole world knew the Jews were already chosen and predestined and blessed through their ancestors, the forefathers, but now a great mystery has been revealed that the Gentiles have ALSO been chosen and predestined and blessed. Maybe they don’t have the ancestry, they’re not of the heredity. instead they have been adopted into the family through Christ.

7:57 You quote the end of verse 12 but then you teach that “we see that election has to do with service” but you should be asking “who is the elder” and “who is the younger” to Paul.

6:26 “These verses are demonstrating to us that God chose people to be his servants.” No. These verses are Paul refuting the Jews’ errant doctrine of election by showing that if their doctrine were true, they would actually be the Ishmael, Esau, Pharaoh of the story. They would be the unchosen ones. If it were true. But it’s not true. God loves all people.

2:01 Wait, what? You’re confirming here several times that Israel was chosen according to God’s purpose, but you don’t indicate what that purpose is? Why not? Gods purpose in choosing Israel, which is the answer to a great mystery that had been hidden for generations, was so that by God working in them and through them, they would be his example to the world so that all people would come to him. That’s the purpose for choosing. Like why God chose David to defeat Goliath, he chose the lowliest one to win an unimaginable history so that everyone in both the Israel and Philistine camps would see and have to believe that it was because God is the hero. 17:31 Why are you making such a point that this part is not part of Paul’s revelation, that it’s not new? It actually is new and it actually is a huge part of Paul’s revelation. He explains it explicitly in Ephesians 2:11-16 and 3:6.

7:29 No, this is badly wrong. “Spiritual Israel” includes all people who believe in God. So that absolutely includes Gentiles and Jews. This is one of Paul’s main points all throughout Romans.

Was Paul paid a salary to preach? I know these ministries take time, money, etc... I'm just often wondering why it becomes a job where people get paid to do it. And I do appreciate the Berean Bible Society; it is a sincere question, not a judgement.
