Show me how you use them!
Do you sell, how much does one cost a 50 lbs, and 28 inches draw length (yew), plus shipping to San Diego, California, USA.
How do you harden iron wood?
what are they for Bows?
Any chance any left please let me know I comment on it the other day I don’t know any other way to contact you if there’s any left please let me know
When he said that is two fifty he didn't mean two dollars and fifty cents I suspect. There is a reason people express themselves in such a way. Yes, it should be two dollars and fifty cents. That's why. Just reach down deep 100 times more.
I like the selection... would even like to buy one, but it would be wasted on me since I wouldn't be using it for a bow, I'd be "Yewsing" (see what I did there 🙂) it to make a mallet. I know... corny.
Staves should be split, not sawn!
why is this?
No comments, I'm not surprised. This was an absolute joke of a video.
His prices are bonkers.

✨🎯✨
What are they for?
Building bows
Depends on the size of the logs. Anything over 4 inch I will split first with wedges, and under 4 I will trim on the saw. Always chasing the cleanest face for the back of the bow
Beautiful staves! Do you split the logs first, or just rip them with the bandsaw? 🤔
I got a hold of #11 and am part-way through roughing it out. Much fun! I cut it down from 80" to 72" to remove some of the end that was quite twisted. Several minor knots and such to work-around, but I think it'll turn-out! I'm aiming to turn the 8" cut-piece into a few toy, mini-bows, and maybe a little catapult! :)
Awesome!!! Let us know how it turns out :) And lovely to hear that the cut off is getting some use too.
Fantastic artistry
Thank you!
Very straight
Jamie, I've seen your bows at ETAR several years ago. you do beautiful work. scottinPa.
Thanks Scott!!!
What are the stave's used for. I live in Middle TN.
The yew staves are used as blanks for bow making projects
@@RavenbeakBows That is awesome, thanks.
Do you sell staves?
I preemptively sent that lol
What kind of weights could you get with those? 60-80lb ?
Yes. But I would dry it out for another year or two to lessen set...
you ship south of the border, to Montana?
Yes we do regularly ship to USA and Europe
I like R

The Yew master 🏆
The quality of Yew your able to find amazes me. I've seen thousands of Pacific Yew trees and it seems they all are different. Some are twisted and fluted and some are covered in big knots. I find it hard to even find a 3 foot section that's clear for the most part!
Thanks so much for this Jamie!
Very interesting stuff. Beautiful workshop by the way!
Thanks for sharing!
Nice!
Truly beautiful ✌
Beautiful designs!
Very nice work ✌🎯
Very very impressed with the presentation and quality of this company. They got to be probably one of the best in the world. 😭. Wish I could afford one but my pension won't run to that much. More of your videos please. I can dream.
Thank you :) We keep meaning to do some more videos of the bows...
👍
Has set A sold?
Looks like...
Do you come across 90 inch yew staves? How large and straight do the trees grow?
Wow! 🏆 I think you're ready For the battle of Hastings 1066!
Haha. Getting close! Just a little bit late!
Can x stave be sinew backed?
Yes, you could definitely sinew back any of the staves!
Just curious what's the heaviest take down bow you can make? using yew
Great stuff as always! Imagine Making a giant take down! With those staves!
Thank you! Ha - that would be an interesting project. We had friends do a giant bowdrill - super fun to watch...
@@RavenbeakBows You're a great bowmaker! Was wondering if a 100 pound take down bow could be made from yew? 42 inch billets I'm guessing. For 30 inch draw
@@tonymaurice4157 Thanks!! There is no reason a big take down couldn't be made. I would try a fibreglass take down sleeve as opposed to a steel and brass fitting. For a 30 inch draw, I like to but my staves at 76 inches for english longbows.
