What is it like using an Invisacook?
This video is for anyone who has questions or is interested in getting an invisacook. I made this video because when I first found out about invisacook's products, I had many questions? How fast could it boil? would it get hot? How does it mount? What are the electrical requirements? This video aims to answer all those questions and more. I hope this video helps anyone looking for more information. I am not affiliated or sponsored by invisacook, I just think it's a great product and wanted to share my experience with it.

    Have you experienced any struggle with the power of the induction hobs when heating up large pans of water for example? I saw other posts mentioning this, and it’s my only concern before going ahead. Thanks

    So…… I’m building a tiny home we went with butcher block counter tops . That won’t work with this stove will it?

    • @KatSchlitz
      @KatSchlitz Місяць тому

      No, not with butcher block, only with porcelain or a tested piece of granite milled to proper thinness. See my comments above.

    We installed the Invisacook 4 burner last year. I love it. Some comments to help others considering this: First comment re the round extra pads: I don't use the round pads, and I don't have the Invisacook pan set. I just don't remember to use those things, pull out another thing, and my porcelain counters are no worse for the wear after nearly a year. I'm not sure how they help, I do not see any difference in cooking speed or performance. I suspect it is for liability of counter damage. But I have not done a true stopwatch-based comparison test. Second comment re pans: QUALITY OF PAN SET IS VERY IMPORTANT. Cheap pans perform terribly. Aluminum 5-ply induction-compatible perform horribly. 5-PLY STAINLESS steel high quality cookware is ESSENTIAL, the best reviewed brands that are expensive are the ones you want, such as Made In or Caraway. I have not yet tried Le Creuset but will soon. Third comment: re cast iron: Cast iron does work, you need to test it to find your cook temps and time for warming up the pan. Forth comment -- Countertop material choice: Porcelain countertop is probably the way to go, but we did a test on granite. We found a granite that looked so beautiful against our surrounding soapstone, understated but clearly stone. It performed BEAUTIFULLY in a test we set up at the granite shop. The stone as the porcelain does not get too hot to touch but it does absorb warmth from the pan and becomes warm itself. SOME GRANITE HAS IRON CONTENT AND WILL NOT WORK FOR INVISACOOK -- it will dissipate the heat around the counter instead of the pan....thus a test of chosen slab is recommended before buying the entire slab. BUT on this particular test, after 30 minutes of the granite cooling back down it began to crack. This it turns out was because its water content was too high, and thus heating and cooling it made it crack (this was just a small test piece, not an entire slab). Thus if someone wants to use granite, it MUST be incredibly dry, however that is achieved, no hidden water content. THUS FOR GRANITE: You must know that it does not contain iron at a content percentage that will affect performance, AND you must know it is a very dry slab. If those conditions are met you can have good performance with granite, if it is milled to the proper thinness at the point of burner mount area. Fifth comment, finding the burner positions: We mounted our control panel in a drawer (like this video) dead center of the burners. Now I can look at the corner of the control panel surrounding "box" (we framed it in as on this video), and run a mental line upward onto the counter to a point about 2-3 inches from the edge a of the countertop, and on that line and position is the center of the first burner, the edge of the center of that first burner. So finding the position is super quick, both sides. The left and right side work the same way. And then the back two burners are directly behind that. So finding our burners is super easy. I just picture a rod or chopsticks from the corner edge of the control panel up onto the counter, about 2-3 inches in, and that is center and front edge of burner(s). Then set pot, and adjust if it beeps, but I never hear the beep anymore. Sixth comment: I keep this area mostly clear, it is an island location, but allows me to use the entire island for grocery hauls and for serving. It is PERFECT for transitioning from cooking to a service island without waiting! If a child touches the countertop, it will be cooler than the pan always, and could be rather hot but will not burn. Seventh comment: As far as keeping other things in the drawer with the control panel, I do not, except a couple of hot pads/ hot gloves. Whatever you place in that drawer will get hot. I do not suggest anything in that location, though silverware getting hot is obviously not a problem, they will just be hot when you go to grab them, but wood will get extra wear that way, and plastic is not recommended at all in that location, my experience. I had a kitchen -area (ceiling) mini-spit thermostat in there and moved it. Comment 8: Ceiling flush mount exhaust fans work great with this system. We have the Victory Sunset flush mount and it is phenomenal ! Last comment, re power: You MUST upgrade to 220V a the installation site. Skimping with leaving 110 will only result in disappointment. If I think of anything else to add, I will edit this. Hope it helps someone, this is what I wish I knew ahead of time.

      Is the Victory Sunset exhaust fan loud? Currently trying to find a less visible solution and have only found the pop ups which we used in our last reno and was happy with. I'd rather have a clean counter this time. I was not aware of this brand. Thank you

      @@Blackcreekstudios I consider it quiet enough, depending on speed. It works REALLY well for those moments needed. We don't need to use it a lot because of all the windows in the kitchen, but sometimes you just need it, smoke won't clear fast enough,, or its cold and raining outside.... and this thing works super fast. It is rated 1 to 6 sones, which is 28 to 53 decibels. Edit to say that ours is at a ceiling height of 9 feet or 108 inches. The installation manual is conservative stating recommended 60 inches over the counter/range height, or likely 8 foot ceiling, but ours is clearly higher and works so well and so fast that I'm convinced it would work for quite a bit more height. Certainly I could see it performing well with 10 feet and perhaps up to 12, though they won't declare that. We centered it directly over the range / cooking location and located the switch on the island side wall, though we had meant to wire it to the nearby wall. The installing guys messed up on that but I don't mind, it is located adjacent to an outlet location. After the guys missed the wall fan switch location, we tried to located this switch also in the drawer with the Invisacook control panel, but the ribbon tape was so stiff that it interfered with the drawer function, so we moved it.

      @@KatSchlitz Quick question, how hot would you say the countertop gets while you're cooking? The wife and I are doing a new build and really want Quartz (recommended staying below 300F) and we plan on getting their pan set with the risers. I feel like it should be fine but any info would be appreciated

    I am curious what countertop surface you used?

    • @MrAkaroc
      @MrAkaroc 7 місяців тому

      From their website: Two countertop materials are recommended to be used with Invisacook: Ultra-compact porcelain material that is 12mm thick brands such as (Magnifica, Sapienstone, Infinity Surfaces, Lapitec, Laminam, Neolith etc….). We recommend porcelain for best results. Granite, the all-natural stone, that needs to be milled to 1.5cm in the area of the cooktop. We recommend porcelain for best results. Some other ultra compact surfaces and natural stones such as quartzite that is heat resistant can work case by case but are not recommended due to possible fragile nature of the stone or uneven heat distribution. *Popular man made quartz countertops or natural marble countertops are not supported. Dekton does not warranty Invisacook.
