For me it's the other way round... I have been listening to the Dubliners (and later on other Irish Bands) since I was a Teenager. My parents gave me their Finnegans Wake - LP... But I have nearly never heard Hungarian Folk before, and I am very impressed of what their "Support Band" is doing!

She is Márta Sebestyén, the famous Hungarian folk singer.

@@JuditJToth The short story of the invitation: The Budapest University of Technology and Economics (BME), like other universities, had a rich and much freer than average cultural life in the early 1980s. The Muzsikás band had a folk club there. The group was already a regular performer at festivals abroad, and it was through their contacts that the staff of the university's Cultural Secretariat were able to invite The Dubliners (as well as Andy Irvine, Hans Theessink, the Wild Geese, the Crooks and others, also theatre people to the Szkéné Theatre). After the meeting between colleagues of the Secretariat and the members of the band in Vienna, The Dubliners visited beyond the then existing 'Iron Curtain' for a token fee, out of sheer curiosity. So that was a legal but totally unusual event.

At 8.50 it’s Muzsikás, the best Hungarian folk band. They were the heaters for Dubliners.

As I remember, the audio cassette was the official edition of the Festival and a gift for the members of the delegations, therefore the logo of the festival is on the cover (at 1:04).
