To be fair, Uiversal studios classic monsters films from the 30s and 40s was the first cinematic universe where several of the same horror characters appeared in one anothers movies and a connected theme/storyline with a few of the movies. Its not exclusive to DC or marvel. So if they do it again they need to do it to whats true to their franchise and not try to do it like marvel. The reason why the MCU works is because it plays to the strength of their source material and how the comics first built their shared universe/world concept.

Universal should have given this director the keys to the rest of their universal horor instead of wasting millions on the big budget remakes of the previous wolf man and tom cruise's mummy dark universe nonsense. The invisible man was a great movie and modern and fresh take. Wolf man may be too. Instead of retreading what went before they need to do the same approch that they did for invisible man.
