I still remember St. John's supporter Mike Francesa being livid about this even though his team got the win because there was 1.7 seconds left whether you called the travel or the out of bounds on St. John's, either way. That's even if you accept the no calls on Rutgers's previous possession, the missed free throw, and this collision on the half court toss. As a former ref I don't think this was rigged in favor of St. John's since most of those calls were pretty tough to make, but you basically end up with all five judgement calls going in favor of one team in the final ~30 seconds which is pretty difficult for the other team to overcome.

Also I think he went to Jail for the work he did at Mercer County Recreation Dept - Double check that

To both Kelvin's and all else who has seen this video/game, I write because I attended this Doubleheader at The ECAC Holiday Festival @ MSG... My Dad & Uncle's were NYC Hoops guys from All Hallows, so to attend The Holiday Festival was a Christmas time tradition.... I am currently 63, and have long told friends, this night @ MSG was "The Greatest Doubleheader Ever Played at The Garden!".... With all the Great Players on all 4 teams! OSU-RU = Triple OT! St John's beats Duke! I attended Big East Tourney Games for many years, Patrick/Mullin/The Pearl/Iverson etc... Great Games.... But this Doubleheader was "The Greatest I ever attended!" Thanks for posting, and Best Wishes to all involved!
