All About Ansys Thermal Analysis: Radiation and Convection
This tutorial explores how to model heat transfer in a steady-state thermal analysis. Step by step, I’ll demonstrate how to:
Define convection and radiation boundary conditions.
Assign material properties and set up boundary conditions.
Analyze temperature distribution, heat flux, and contact effects.
Visualize results like thermal gradients and heat transfer paths.
We’ll also observe how suppressing and enabling contact regions impact heat transfer between the heat source and the panel. Finally, I’ll show how to use probes and reaction probes.
This tutorial is perfect for beginners and those looking to refine their simulation skills. If you found this video helpful, don’t forget to like and subscribe to my channel for more educational content on heat transfer modeling and simulation!

Hello sir, i have a query like in this instead of using port boundary condition, if i want to use the PML and Background pressure field in 3 D (Like it is done in comsol tutorial of porous absorber in 2D) what are the changes are required in the model?
Hello, As i split the body and specify poroacoustics, you need to separate the cylinder and add a background pressure and PML because they are domain. This process is the same as this example, except you have to specify PML and background pressure instead of poroacoustics domain.
@@caewitharminhashemi yes sir, thank you i did that. now again we have to give port boundary to calculate absorption coefficient or any other additional variable or setting required?
