Always saw the download option, never really knew what it was. Thanks
Love your videos can the spectra be ran off the RA770 also
Thanks for the kind words. So the short answer is yes with latest software for both devices you can run scenes via the Apollo 770. There are some limitations and we still find it easier to set up via a garmin MFD first
Looking forward to it! Interesting!!
Good stuff man!
looking forward to see you
I hope you guys get around to doing an install video
Recommendation: Make the Furuno app be full screen and the speaker in the inset window. The current approach only uses 25% of the screen to show the key content, which on my iPad, isn’t a productive experience.
Do you find yourself needing to adjust the gain or leave it in auto to find bottom features and schools of fish?
For the most part we have found leaving it in Auto works for 90% of people out there. We have also found that when using it in tandem with other transducers depending on there location it may help to tweak some of the settings as well.
Buzzards bay or CT please
For the small device you told that it's used also during hiking, skiing etc. everywhere and is not activated by the water, so how can we activate it in case of distress?
Great question it has a manual activation that you do on the device itself. Usually it has a hard cover over this so you cant accidentally set it off
The 3D view is broad, but it is really lacking in detail compared to sidescan. I'm not sure it's usable for locating rocky bottom and small structure, and I'd love to see a demo of it doing that. Also, the view is so big I wonder how you actually use it to get on the fish.
You are correct this is not going to replace a side scan style transducer for some people. However this is another great option. For the ultimate mix yes you could pair them together. I am sure we will have more on this transducer in the coming months as we continue to install more of them. As for getting on the fish unlike the side scan with this system you are able to see the structure as well as the fish in the area and not just shadows of something.
Great job. Only thing I could add is putting the heat shield bowl on when rebuilding. They’re required now for “Full Compliance” and are stupid expensive for a simple metal bowl. Like $100 online. It’s the kind of thing a surveyor would ding you on when you sell your boat. Obviously somewhere in the world at least one time a plastic bowl was exposed to flame or heat and melted allowing diesel to flow everywhere. Now it’s a required thing for ABYC compliance. As they say, regulations are written in blood, so I don’t argue.
Great point and you are 100% correct. This is a great add on for anyone who doesn't have one already
So ill be able to have the charts available on my Garmin head unit and my tablet at the same time through active caption?
Correct you will be able to use your MFD to show your charts, and than in the Active Captain app in the bottom middle you will see an icon you can select saying charts. These will be the same charts running via your device and not the MFD.
@navtronicsmarinegroup Good thank you! Because I want to be able to use my tablet while I'm at home to look at the depth Contours of coming up tournaments at different lakes, without going outside cutting my grass on and viewing the lakes that way
I didn’t see you clean the filter. Or did you replace it.
Filter was replaced with new one as the other was well used. Filters are like Impellers if your going to open and check them might as well replace them while your there. Takes the same amount of time.
Can we see how it’s mounted to the boat? Did it come installed from the factory?
So its mounting is very much like a traditional transducer from the past in that there is a fairing block to match the angle of your hull. However in our case we had the builder put a pocket in on center line so that we could keep it flush to the bottom for performance and less drag.

@@navtronicsmarinegroup thanks for the reply. We just ordered a transom mount bracket from Barji marine in Australia. Seemed to be an easy solution for a smaller boat. Excited to see how turns out 🤙🏽.
Can they be mounted on top of a vehicle and detect other vehicles or people?
These are designed for Marine use, however I don't know why it would not work. It would depends on the install on how good it would work.
Sirven para montarlo arriba de un vehículo y detectar otro vehículos o personas?
NICE BUILD!
Hi! It’s very nice to meet you! I always enjoy your videos! I work as an electrician at a ship yard in japan! hope I will visit your place in the future!
thank you for the kind words and amazing to know this is being viewed world wide
My zones are no longer displayed and and some lights are now on the same zone They are one is now not the same color as its brother lights. Im asking for a friend he is in charge of a 65 hcb. They have 5 zones a bunch of modelers. B4 they get to where they plug into their zones as you showed. Not has-been touched or moved just no longer have 5 zones just one is showing on the display. Sry about assuming you read this or could help. Hcb is writing it off. Its a 8.8 million dollar boat you’d think they would do anything for him. Any who I’ll check back in a few days thank you and have a blessed day
Sorry to hear of these issues. Without being onboard and seeing things first hand, I would personally start with a full system reset on the Poco side of things and create new zones from scratch. This should resolve that issue. If not then the team from Lumitec should stand behind this as a warranty issue I would think.
How does the built in traditional sonar on the ps70 look? In your video, you referenced a b175 transducer when you went to the traditional sonar view. Which traditional sonar is better? The b175 or the Ps70?
Great question, and also a tough one as there is no single perfect answer. It truly depends on water depth your working in. The B175HW is great for up to 500' depth the B175L is good for the deeper waters up to 2000' in depth. Where as the PS 70 is good for up to 1000' depth. Then you also have to consider the frequency ranges. The PS 70 works in a smaller frequency range of 190 - 210 where as the 175L is 40 - 60kHz and the 175HW is in the 150 - 250 range. So as the old saying goes it courses for horses, some the PS 70 will be amazing on traditional while others will prefer to view of the B 175HW
I Love it 💕..Yamaha V8 450..
Thanks for uploading this, have had a hard time wrapping my head around the components required to connect to the Empirbus system. This really helps understand the Empirbus digital switching system. We are looking at getting a Garmin Veio for our RV and would like to use Empirbus for digital monitoring/display, not so much the digital switching. Is the MDU graphics module required to create these custom displays or can you connect directly to the NMEA2000 with your laptop and update with software? Or is this software restricted to installers/builders?
Sully--nice to meet you and have chow with you last Friday at Newport show to talk boats and electronics !!!
Thanks for the kind words, pleasure to meet you as well

Hi Gents, great video, I did install the M323 flir thermal Camera but the video flickers a lot. any advice, please?
We would have to know a little more about the system and how it was installed if they used a network connection or analog style, also what system it is going into before we could offer any advice also would need to confirm which model FLIR you have did you mean a 232 or 332 possibly?
Nice boat, absolutely!
sapete =safety damn auto correct :))
Hello there , complimenti for Your review. I bought few weeks ago the Flir M232 for my boat because was looking for sapete during night cruising BUT i was surprised how useless it is... M232 is good to enter/exit from harbour or during night anchor BUT for night cruising i'm not satisfied as my eye saw a big ostacle almost one minute before was visibile on flir monitor.... i need some5hing that is better than my eye duri g night navigation.... Do U think M300C will risolve my problem? Thanks for Your help
while the M232 is a good camera for what it is designed for, it is truly no comparison to the M300 camera.
Hi love your channel. How could I do that on a garmin 943, maybe thur the rj45 or mini usb any insight would be greatly appreciated
Alas there is no easy way to do this on a 943 as it does not have an HDMI input. There are certainly some workarounds that could be possible, however none that we would recommend at this time
Thanks very informative and easy to understand.
Great video, mate. I think the 1 thing that a lot of people want to see is the breakdown of differences between TZT3 and the TZ XL.
The biggest take away from our first hand use is the faster speeds of the unit, the improved and updated charting. This is what most people are noticing right away. Behind the scenes the ability to plug cables directly into the unit instead of the pig tail is a nice touch. As is the front mounting face for the displays.
Im interested in the cabin .. it has a tv and a it can sleep 2? Does it have ac/ heat? .. can a shower be installed or not enough room for a shower ?
Can it be installed on the dash a foot away from your echomap ? Also is this good for keeping your heading when jigging fish in one spot. ?
For best results you will want to mount this with a clear view of the sky (usually on a hard top) if you are looking for a better solution for heading, then you will want to look at something like the Garmin MSC -10 Sat compass
Thanks Sully! I've been waiting for this update and thought it would come through Active Captain. I always learn something from you.
Kevin, once you do this software update, and as long as you have the ethernet connection into your stereo all future updates should be via the active captain app!
Software has a bug that interferes with XM weather on the MFD. May need to shut down NEAMA 2000 network for approx 15 min then reboot entire system bringing fusion online last.
this is interesting as we have not seen this yet but will be sure to keep an eye out for it
Can they be connected directly to Internet via wifi or ethernet cable ?
No at this time Garmin uses the Active Captain app as the access point / connection for connectivity and updates.
this would make a hell of an offshore boat. clean transom and 3 mpg. Just need to be in a lower price point form me lol.
I hope this trickles down to a 26-28 foot package one day. Very impressive boat.
SWEET!!!
@Navtronics Thank you for all the info. I am looking to install it on an aluminum center console boat. I am concerned about the ambient temperature spec of only +55 degrees C (131F) . Any thoughts?
My first question is where are you installing this onboard that you are seeing constant temps in that range? I would like to add some ventilation into that space for sure. It is become more and more common on some of our bigger installed to add in a simple thermostatically controlled DC fan to keep the air flow moving to keep temps down.
@@navtronicsmarinegroup I don't have it installed yet. It just seems possible that an boat center console made of aluminum could reach that temperature in direct sunlight. I will definitely look at properly ventilating the console. I like the idea of a thermostatically controlled fan. The boat is currently being built (18' bay style fishing boat). Thanks for getting back with me so fast.
512GB MicroSD mapping card included in the back of that bad boy as well.
Is this DSC test number still working? And does this work in most ports on the east coast of the US?
As far as we are aware this is still the most current way to test your VHF. Of course your mileage may vary depending on where your located
Who would one want the SK Ride to level out a monohull during turning? Doesn't make sense to me as the lean helps the mono carve a turn.
All in what some people want. Some prefer the lean into the curves others prefer the flat ride, and seakeeper ride gives them that options.
hey mate, quick question are you aware of anyone using fruno screens with empirbus instead of garmin screens? possible?
At this time I am not aware of anything. Seeing as it requires N2K and Ethernet I would guess it would not be an easy task to make happen. Add into the mix that Empirbus is now a fully owned Garmin company and it makes it seem to be even less likely at this time
Hi, any information on when TZTXL 16" will be released?
Not at this time. Hopefully by late fall.
@@navtronicsmarinegroup Thanks a lot for your prompt response, I hope too. Anyway, very detailed video.
Nice job, as a marine electronics installer I enjoy your work! Keep it coming.
