The Willy Wonka of jazz?

He is one of the all time greatest American composers and probably the most prolific jazz composer currently working. The style, arrangements, and sheer creative force and untouchable, not to mention his guitar and compositional facility. Rather than "thinning out" over the years and reverting to ever more familiar means he has continue to break into entirely new sonic realms using basically the identical tools he has used since the beginning. All the creativity, focus, and improvisation intuition, however, continue to grow and once again show fresh directions. PM will be one of those artists like Bach and Mozart that people will be listening to, and astonished by hundreds and hundreds of years from now.

Deep deep deep richness of harmony, layers and layers of grove and flow. I would love to know how this and many other great tunes of his were written and fully brought to life. This is one of a kind, just considering the music alone.
