    Although delayed, grateful for the conclusion of season 3. I want to mention with joy our sustainability efforts, as we've established a factory to recycle PET bottles to produce PSF (polyester staple fiber, from which polyester yarn will be produced), and our trial production has begun. We're almost done obtaining the GRS certificate and will start commercial operation in the first week of May. I believe it will contribute not only to the urgent needs of 170 million people in Bangladesh but also to sustainability worldwide. You are most welcome to visit us whenever you are in Bangladesh. We also have a plan to establish a plant to produce recycled cotton fiber soon.

    The 'Prebook' system was totally unknown to me. It's great to know about it, and thanks for mentioning this! This discussion was mainly about inventory and stock efficiency, which is a part of the total supply chain. I hope you will also discuss how to manufacture/source goods at an optimistic price from a vendor offshore.

    Upon listening to this episide I can say from a manufacturer's persoective that working with SDG would be exciting because SDG is capable of providing every detail in advance that need a manufacturer in order to make the garment perfect, on the other hand it will be difficult to hide from SDG's eye if anything goes wrong in terms of quality or manufacturing fault.

    I really don't understand why a manufacturer should agree in DDP deal. The deal should be in FOB or maximum CIF. Paying duty or trsnsport costs of buyerd end by factory is unfair and sometime its insecure deal too. I don't know how Bret would explain this!

    • @clothingcoulture
      @clothingcoulture Рік тому

      Thanks for your comment- Here is a response from Bret. I think perhaps you misunderstood the conversation. Most factories certainly engage in selling their product fob factory or port, and it is not my point to force factories to have any additional burden to ship and clear. However, we are seeing more factories than ever are engaging in DDP activities to increase business opportunities not by force but as an added service. It is common for many businesses to not have an established internal logistics team, nor the detailed knowledge to successfully get goods to the final destination in a complex world. Stars Design Group, Inc. and others provides this elective service in navigating the complicated world of port infrastructure, duties & tariffs, customs, and the many modes of transportation engaged to move goods from the factory to customer destination.

    • @AhsanHabibUnitedExpo
      @AhsanHabibUnitedExpo Рік тому

      It's very kind of Bret to respond to my comments, and I'm glad and thankful for his explanation. Yes, there are some well-established factories in the supply chain countries that can offer DDP deals. I recently got in touch with two companies from the USA, including Sheryl Clark of Boston Proper, who had asked for DDP deals, but unfortunately, we are not capable of accepting them. Yes, I believe that Stars Design Group can boast of their extended services to their clients, and as I also see Bret's insights about the whole scenario of the global apparel industry, they deserve much more appreciation from their existing and prospective valuable clients too. @@clothingcoulture

    Wow! so much information, facts and figures in a 21 mannites episode! It is very frustrating to know that after so much effort we have achieved only 13% in terms of sustainability. I am also amused that Bret mentioned Spinnova Oy from Finland, I know them and their R&D works as their chief sustainability officer Mr. Shahriare Mahmood is a Bangladeshi and very known to me! Bret is not only a businessman but also a Mogul of information in this sector!

    Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS). Yes, Indian people are much clever and smarter than BD people. I guess Bangladesh's main problem is weak democracy and lack of policy making. Presently USA is trying help us to bring back our proper democracy which is being tremendously appreciated by the people of Bangladesh.

    I'm amused to see Bret's deep knowledge about overall global fashion industries. But in one point I would like to mention is that, we run a medium size Oekotex, BSCI and Sedex certified knitwear factory in Bangladesh (per day Tee shirt production capacity is 20,000pcs and Polo shirt is 7,000pcs.) and our MOQ is 2,000pcs Tee per color. I also would like to mention that presently about ten companies are producing recycled poly fiber (solid and hollow both) but there is a shortage of spinning mills for polyester yarn manufacturing. And I welcome foreign investors to fill up this gap individually or jointly.

    • @clothingcoulture
      @clothingcoulture Рік тому

      Thank you so much for your insight, noted that your MOQ per color are slightly higher than what we called out in the episode. There is certainly a great diversification in all shapes and sizes of factories in every country and for the proposes of our overview per country we used some generalization.

    What are lab dips?

    • @clothingcoulture
      @clothingcoulture Рік тому

      Hi Jasmine! Lab dips are fabric swatches provided by a dye house or color lab. Swatches of the fabric used in a design are dyed with different formulas and sent to the designer/manufacturer who then determines which version most closely matches the original vision for the garment.

  • @katyschildmeyerksapparelde2441

    The other aspect is posture and seated Scans would be helpful to ensure we are getting a posture data. Posture actually is a huge factor in fit. Especially for the neck/ shoulder relationship and it is necessary for mens suiting.

  • @katyschildmeyerksapparelde2441

    The key is always what the starting shape and size of the garment is in relation to the scan data and shape. NeRF and studies by Dynavis. I work on the rigging issue and the program interoperability. It’s a huge challenge but luckily all the players want to move forward. We hope to have better tools in 2023. Brands must educate like they used to prior to 2008. I used to work with 30 pages worth of fit information that I would distribute to sales people at Nordstrom or Banana republic. We did group try on sessions and discovery boards for fit. Employees would record these discoveries to share across team. Then e-commerce hit and most brands took the fit methods to the consumer.
