Haha no thanks, but I appreciate the offer. You can see in this vid I'm almost at 2 billion units and almost 700k nanites, I also have like 5 or 6 exotic ships currently. I really hope we get more ship slots in the future, 12 is way too low.

I will probably move the basic turrets at some point, I honestly just built those ones in particular to get my defense rating higher than my food+water rating to minimize the odds of the settlement being attacked. Even so, you can't bring the odds of attack down to 0 unfortunately.

@@ragecage7141 I have never looked at the scores, neither defense nor anything else, I have always built a large number of turrets of all types just because I like them. at each of the two entrances to the castle I had built an elevated walkway with 4 machine gun turrets and 3 missile turrets... no synthetic has ever managed to come close. but now I've eliminated the problem completely: after taking the perception bobblehead and the power armor, I abandon Preston and his company in the museum of freedom, so I don't have to build and manage any settlements... obviously I stay away from those inhabited settlements, which do nothing but ask for help, and to those companions whom I no longer need, I tell them to return to the place where I found them.

@@sonosoloio yeah you can technically avoid the attacks in Sanctuary altogether if you never build any resources and keep settlers out of it, but I typically do it all anyways for the free xp that comes with the small side quests. Kind of a pain in the butt when they do get attacked, but at least it can make for entertaining content once in a while!

@@ragecage7141 contrary to what F4's detractors claim, in this game we can role-play in many ways: as well as choosing what to do and what not to do, even whether to build or not build something or simply whether to be interested in something at all or not. without building and managing any settlement, in the last game of F4 I reached level 107, thanks to the secondary missions and only 5 companion missions: Deacon, MacCready, Cait, Valentine and Danse, the others don't interest me.

@sonosoloio very true, at least we do have that kind of freedom in the game, and there are many other ways to cheese xp and levels. This is my first time on Xbox running without mods (been playing the game since release, though) so getting the achievements was also a factor for me. I just hope my settlements don't get attacked when I go to the DLCs, because on survival mode there's no way I'm going back to defend them.

Very true, in my case I drop weapons I'll never use into the workshop if they are decent or legendary, and let the settlers arm themselves. I prefer making my own defenses to save the hassle of handing out weapons and ammo.

@@ragecage7141 careful doing that. I have lost many legendary weapons that I wanted to use when settlers stole them. They will also take ALL of the ammo for that weapon. And settlers with legendary mini nuke weapons is not a good thing!

In those instances the settlement battle happened while you were fast traveling. The game time changes depending on the distance because it calculated the travel time like if you walked there during fast travel. The further and/or longer it takes for you to get there the more likely you can fail defending. The BOS vertibird helps as will travel in a matter of minutes in-game as opposed to hours. If that isn't the case you have to wander outside the perimeter to trigger the event as sometimes they just wait outside the settlement and glitch, not moving.

@@SquanchyCatDad No I mean I fast traveled away and back but still no attackers... Or sometimes a hand full of attackers but when I defeat them the attack isn't officially over. I sleep in the settlement etc. but no (more) attackers spawn. And then, eventually when I'm gone minding my own business it will tell me that I failed defending the settlement and I'm like whatever.

There is a lower limit to the odds of a settlement being attacked. Only settlements that produce resources (water, food) will get attacked. Your defense rating needs to be higher than your food+water rating, and the lowest you can get this "chance of being attacked" rating to is 2%.

Also, if the "attack" bugs out and doesn't spawn enemies, try walking away a little bit and coming back in. I was playing on survival with no mods so no fast travel for me.

@@ragecage7141 I know and that's the weird thing. The settlement in question is Sanctuary which has more than enough defences and only the minimum in resources. Still it gets attacked more frequently than other settlements.

No mods whatsoever, mods are broken for me and I can't even download anything. If you meant my armor, it's just various pieces of combat or metal armor with the new Enclave paint job.

@@justincooper5189 yep, it spawns once you go into the van, it's made so that it appears as though it falls from the highway that's above the one you have to go through, but it tends to bug out, cause the same thing happened to me the last time I played lonesome road

Thanks! It was supposed to be much cleaner, the deathclaw here usually agrros towards ED-E immediately and hits that trap, but not this time 😅

@@ragecage7141 Yea lol, just noticed that. ED-E served as a great meatshield, and so did the companions in the base game with the killsquads. But man, just finished a gameplay solo (hardcore, but installed some weapon mods which gave me M37 Ithaca, USP and L96A1, and with logan's loophole), I was able to clear out Hoover Dam pretty easily (Legion run). Literally, drugs are gonna be the shit which saves your goddamn ass at times. In my hardcore runs, I just avoid LR, I am too tired to deal with every fucking ambush with buffed up debug deathclaws and centurions/veteran rangers with Brush Guns and Tri-Beams. But on non-hardcore runs, I kinda liked LR, I enjoyed the little remnants of USA's military setups, the fixation with explosives and pure raw and violent emotions both in the atmosphere and with the ghouls, deathclaws, tunnelers and my dear Ulysses himself.

@breddie_is_rookie yes I love Logan's Loophole on certain builds where drugs will be used a lot, or any aid items in general. Then I hit up Old World Blues around level 24 to get access to the trait reset you can do before hitting level 30. Assuming my permadeath character is still alive by then lol.

@@ragecage7141 yea, that's the best way ngl. I would usually go with Built to Destroy and Skilled (I get Jury Rigging as early as I could, its pretty good); but Logan's Loophole is pretty fun; drugs/magazines remain for a very long time, which kinda makes things a bit more bearable until you get a decent weapon. Good luck with your permadeath run man. I had my PTSDs with Pokemon Nuzlockes to even try one in fallout.

@breddie_is_rookie Appreciate it, unfortunately this character in the video died fighting Ulysses. Maybe a bad idea to fight him on a permadeath run, but as an Explosives Chad build it seemed appropriate to try.

I never think to use the Flare Gun, until I get to Rawr.

I find flare gun or stealth boy is the best way out of that tangle unless you have a powerful we@pon and don't mind using VATS.

I had an unarmed build so I really did fight through this highway 😩 at least I had a lot of perks so once I knocked them out I could finish them real quick

i always use anti material rifle with AP bullet,expensive but effective if you do a headshot
