Still Standing - Earl Campbell Story
He was something special
If any ex NFL player has CTE it is Campbell. A raw brute !!!!! He seems like a low key family type of guy. Good video
Mofo looked 45 years old when he accepted his highschool award.
Love Earl Campbell.
I’m a steeler fan for more than 50 years however I loved watching Mr Campbell run!!!
🏆
A great football player, and a great American.
Hello Eral!1 I was borned to the Teaxas Longhorn Team in 1969!! I would like to connect with you have been a major part of my life!
Something's wrong here: in these images it doesn't seem as though Earl was 10 ft. tall, but, damn! I'm sure he was all of that, so, yeah, there's something wrong here. What a football stud!! Really hard to beat what this man was at his peak. Barry is my favorite, but Earl was something special too.
“THE ONLY RB WHO HAD HIS JERSEYS RIPPED MORE THAN ANYONE IN NFL HIStory.” ~ He was AWEMAZING to watch. ~
Whose gonna tackle those thighs?
I saw Earl Campbell from 5 feet away in 1983. We were both 5'11" and 240. My bench press was 420, strict and drug free. I assessed his upper body and could see mine was superior. But when I looked at his thighs, they each looked to be 36" apiece of chiseled black granite and made me feel as if my thick, muscular thighs were sticks. I imagine he could have squatted 600-700 lbs. He was a beast from the waist down, a specimen unique in my observational experience. I'll never forget him.
2:47, 7:10, and 7:58 This has to be seen to be believed.
Earl Campbell had an open and shut lawsuit against the Houston organization for non-support.
Straight up, Earl Campbell turned Linebackers into speed bumps and defensive backs into roadkill. I don't care how tough you were or how big of a hit you could deliver, if you were a defensive player that ran head on into Earl Campbell carrying the ball north to south, already headed downfield with a full head steam, it was like getting hit head on by a fully loaded dumptruck.
He’s the only guy I ever had a poster of on my wall as a kid. All the rest were girls in bikinis.
I miss Earl Campbell, Bum Phillips and being a Houston Oiler fan.
Two legends, Bum and Earl. Football was a lot more fun in those days.
Earl Campbell thanks for the memories!!
Haven't seen a RB with quite the power and speed, yet finesse as Earl displayed. After he scored, I loved his non celebrating attitude. He let his running do the talking on the field.
We are lucky to still have Earl, he thought about leaving this planet early. God blessed Earl Campbell.
Earl made runs that made Bo's runs look small not taking anything away because we never got a chance to see all of Bo
One of the best EVER to run the ball.
i would have leveled him. i hit high between the numbers.
THANK YOU YOGI BEAR
My favorite running back 🏈
Earl was a class act. Bum was too.
Before the crazy tattoos and feminity in today’s football
Love you Earl and luv you Blue !!! You gave so much Mr. Earl ! 🙏😀😍😢
🐐🤘
In 1977 our family went to see Texas vs SMU. After the game Earl autographed a cap I was wearing. After all these years I still have it. I remember him hitting people so hard his face guard would break off the helmet, or his helmet would fly off his head and he would just keep going! Incredible! So humble, and a class act!
Earl Campbell is one of the greatest football player to ever put on a uniform on top of being a great person
tHE TWO BEST running backs in NFL Football are Earl Campbell and Barry Sanders. I bet Barry watched many films on Earl's running style, I see also of similarities.
I’am not much into football like that. Before my grandmother died, she used to talk to me about Earl. She told me that he’s a cousin of mine. My response during that time was, “oh, ok. That’s cool.” Since I’am not into sports like that, I really didn’t care. Years later thinking about it. I just told my son about him. He got SO excited, wondering why I never told him. I said, “buddy, there was nothing to tell. I don’t know him. I never met him.” I was born in the 80’s. I’ve never heard of him until I was grown. Maybe this will give my son the push to keep playing football.
him gettin hit inside the 5 by jack Tatum best finish by Campbell and gettin rocked by the assassin UA-cam the hit and he still made it in the end zone and in part why he is phased up today took too many of these type hits
To this very day his thighs are STILL thick as watercoolers.
He makes really good hot links too
A true class act, both on and off the field.
One of the greatest, fiercest & most feared running backs ever!
Greatest Longhorn of all time as well !!!
Just the other day at work, the young men were talking about football running backs. I asked them "Have you ever heard of Earl Cambell?" Then I showed them, they were in awe!
Literally fleeing his shirt
An incredible talent wasted by incompetent coaching and an anemic passing game.
The greatest football player of all time! Period!
Look at all those over the top TD celebrations. Redicilous. Not classy like todays backs when they score.
Earl Campbell was amazing to watch power & outstanding speed ty
Skoal Brotha! 🏈
He may only had five productive years, but those were some hellacious years
MY COMMENT IS SIMLPY AND MORE IMPORTANT,IT'S TRUE EARL CAMPBELL PLAYED HIGH SCHOLL BALL AGAINST MY HOMETOWN TEAM,THE MARSHALL MAVERICKS WHEN I WAS GROWING UP IN MARSHALL TX. JOHN TYLER AND MARSHALL WERE IN THE SAME DISTRICT BACK IN THOSE DAYS AND ARE ONLY 56 MILES APART.HE OF COURSE WAS A MAN THEN IN A MAN'S BODY,PLAYING HIGH SCHOOL FOOTBALL.MY HOMETOWN MAVERICKS LOST EVERY YEAR TO JOHN TYLER WHEN EARL PLAYED FOR THEM.HIS WORLD FAMOUS THIGHS WERE WORLD FAMOUS TO US WHO GOT TO SEE HIM PLAY BACK IN THE 1970'S.AND ONE MORE SIMPLE THING,HE IS AND ALWAYS WILL BE MY FAVORITE RUNNING BACK EVER.THAT'S HIGH SCHOOL,COLLEGE AND NFL RUNNING BACK ALL IN ONE.GOD BLESS YOU EARL.
Agree legendary
The Greatest of All Time, THIS WAS THE NFL!!!!!!!!!
