Why linux? Why push people into something, that needs constant tweaking, fixing?? I think of Atlas OS as alternative

i think using an emulator for me is kinda getting on my nerves, but the its the double cursor.... but i reccomend a emulator tho use mumuplayer 12

Lol Linux runs worse than windows and barely works. It shouldn't take 2 days to figure out how to install an amd gpu driver that basically makes the system actually usable. Not to mention certain distro crash when trying to install. Fuck Linux, Windows is here to stay

Yes the GUIs have gotten better, but Linux is a terminal-first OS and it is so for a reason. You're guaranteed to be using the terminal daily unless you're a grandma doing grandma-tier activities. Specially gamers - y'all ain't gonna be playing no cod of doody or fortnite or any other anitcheat-heavy game without passing through the realm of GPU-passthrough virtualization which is nothing but terminals, text config files, and gray hair. No pain, no gain.

If the Linux-seller doesn't show you how to install and troubleshoot drivers, it's a fraud. Present day Linux version have GUI for installer, but you would get pretty much equivallent of the old (like 30 years old) Windows compatibility mode. Now you have to install drivers. Installing drivers isn't like Windows. There isn't file to run and click on accept. You have to go to terminal, the command line of Linux, and really, really know what you are doing. If you try Linux, you will soon find out how much Windows spoiled us all.

But yeah, I agree, Linux has actually become an excellent OS for beginners and light users. Better than Windows in my opinion. Just don't start messing up with the system files if you don't know what you're doing. My partner has been running it for a month on her laptop now...she only does light stuff like writing, browsing the web, playing light games and watching content. She hasn't opened the terminal yet.

quick correction for those not aware: Fedora is upstream of Red Hat, not downstream. So, RHEL is based on Fedora, not the other way around.

IMO: Ubuntu went to good to garbage. Mint is the best for ease of use for new linux users and less dicking around for more techy people but not hardcore. Ubuntu Desktop is for people who don't like mint, do not mind the extra work to make it more easy for newer users and those who don't mind the extra resource usage. Debian is pretty wonderful for more advanced users. Hard core people use Arch or Slackware. Any list not including at least arch is just invalid 🙂
