Along with Joan Baez and probably led by Harry Belafonte they brought the issues of civil rights issues to locations where civil rights was not a local hot-bed topic. I first heard PP&M in the Fall of 1962 at the time of their first album. Some guys in my college dorm put together a new stereo system in the common "living room" area and the first album played on that system was that album. I got very deep into all their subsequent albums until 1969. I still have them all (though digitized) and reminisce about those "good old days" a few times per year. (PS: I, too, get tired of AI voices narrating clips like this one).
