There’s a powerful moment in 2 Samuel 12:19-20 MSG (The Message) that shows us what it means to trust God, even in very hard-times:
"David noticed that the servants were whispering behind his back and realized that the child must have died. He asked the servants, ‘Is the child dead?’ They said, ‘Yes, he’s dead.’ David got up from the floor, washed his face, combed his hair, put on a fresh change of clothes, then went into the sanctuary and worshiped."
David had just gone through something incredibly difficult, yet his first response was to worship God.
This doesn’t mean he wasn’t sad - he was. But he chose to trust God and find strength in Him, even when life felt so heavy.
Sometimes we face challenges that feel too big to handle, but this story reminds us that we can turn to God no matter what.
He understands our pain and is always ready to comfort us. When we feel like we can’t move forward, He gives us the strength to stand, take the next step, and even worship Him through it all.
