EMERGENCY HORN SALUTE - 10hr LATE VIA 2 at Elma - 10/14/2024
10/14/2024 - My friend and I were at Elma for a 10hr late VIA 2 out of Winnipeg. Apparently the 2nd unit crapped itself out near Dugald so they had to stop and isolate it making them even later. They passed us at Elma about 10:02am ripping at about 60per with a whack-ton of short horn blasts and a few emergency horn hits for good measure.

Follow a few friends and I as we chase CN 'Canadian Cab' C44-9WL 2505 through a 'Friendly' Manitoba snowstorm on the point of Thunder Bay (mostly) grain train, CN G891. A few friends and I set out on the CP (pre-KCS merger) Carberry subdivision. We were not let down with high-speed priority auto/intermodal trains, mixed freights, and CP's 'TEC'/track evaluation train. Videos ranging from Winnipeg all the way 55 or so miles west to the small city of Portage La Prairie, where we would break off from a short, yet sweet afternoon on the CP Carberry sub.

Back in late July, I got word of the 8WEM25 on working a ballast train on the CP Emerson Subdivision. It's totally awesome! I would say that your video is one of the best, if not the best, of the 2816 that I have seen. I recorded it on the floodway at Halama Drive.
this is so fire bruh, what a weekend that was.
Via will often try to make up time in the last stretch before Winnipeg, coming from either direction. They will crank it up to 130 kph even though this creates an awful lot of jostling for passengers and clearly either the train or the tracks are not engineered for a smooth ride at that speed. But the chronic terrible lateness of the Canadian makes it necessary I guess.
I would say unfortunately both the tracks and cars are neglected and factors for the unsmooth ride.

I used to tickle my pickle to angry birds. When I was about 13 l loved angry birds I had every game and bought every toy they had. One day I was playing angry birds when all the sudden the big red bird turned me on. I couldn’t stand it I was going crazy. I decided to pull out my big snake and start strangling it. Oh I never felt so good. I soon continued and never got bored of it. That big red bird was so hot and the blue ones were some cuties. I’m glad to admit I still do this
