the switch at the end 🤯
Good rule of thumb..bump in beginning, shake in the end
😂😅 For sure. Gotta love the sportsmanship in our sport though. It's all good right....
LOL
please don't skip the "time out" periods. It's nice to see what is happening. Thank you for the amazing content as usual!
Thanks for the suggestion to skip all “time out” periods. We will be doing that in every video moving forward.
@@modernfoos Thank you :)
Mo is hands down a great human. that he happens to also be a great fooser... it's like bonus points.
32:40 - Great catch! That was my grandpa's watch. He worked at the same company for 20 years and received it as a retirement gift haha
Thanks for extending this one to 5 games. Left me in suspense. For real though, great job on these videos and the stats are always much appreciated.
Glad you enjoyed!
My pleasure! 🙈 (unlike my ex)
@@tightmiddle great match! I was rooting for you and didn't even realize you're a fellow BC boy. Loved the shake up to pull shot straight in that last game. Congrats!
We all know who lifted the table 😆
💯😆
Did you participate in the lifting or not? 😂😂
Seriously one of the funniest parts of the whole match! 😂
Have you considered adding some filler content to lengthen videos so that the outcome isn't given away by the length of the video? I try to stop from looking at how much time is left in the video but I can't help myself and it takes away from my enjoyment of the match. For example, in this match, based on time remaining, after Brandon and Ryan win game 3, I know they'll win game 4. This probably doesn't matter to a lot of people who already know the outcome, but for some like myself, if you added some filler time at the end, I think it would make for a better more suspenseful watch. I'll keep watching either way, but just some food for thought. Thanks for making these videos!
Thanks for the suggestion and no, this isn't a consideration for us. A great opportunity for you to work on that discipline of not looking though. You can do it! :) Thanks for the comment.
@@modernfoos lol
so its been a while since i played... but do you not need to "set" for 1 second after to take hand of rod. When Muoz rolls over ball, he is immediately shooting (and jarring)
This is detailed in the rules. "Momentary release of the handle when changing between holds prior to a transition is not in and of itself a Sudden Play infraction." Complete rulebook can be found at bit.ly/mfrulebook. Thanks for the comment!
Am I the only one noticing two fouls here? First, there's the "one second distraction" that we all noticed. The second is a spin. To me (with the video we have here), it looks like he exceeded 180° after his shot, ending up with his figurine higher than the point of shot. No ? Maybe @modernfoos can provide a high quality slow-mo ;)
You're correct on the first one. Definitely an infraction there. However, no infraction on the second point you make. We do have the high quality replay and it's definitely not a spin. The rule there is that it can't exceed 360 degrees before or after contact. This probably did exceed 180 degrees as you said, but that wouldn't be illegal until it was a full rotation. Thanks for the comment!
@@modernfoos I meant 360°, my mistake! 😉 There’s something odd about his move after the shot (the figure ended up with its feet in the air...)
Poor Kenny is getting all bummed out, but if you look, he's leaving Grand Canyons for Brandon.
The reason Clay should never sing on these things is because the mic isn't set up for it and therefore the sound has a cutting quality that's abrasive to the eardrum.
That's the point. Nobody is hoping this is submitted for Grammy consideration.
6:34 how does that wall pass go through. Literally the 5 bar is glued to the wall defending it. Actually amazed.
There's a point where you're not able to block a wall pass anymore if the guy is angled too far back. He was at that point.
Who is this Ryan guy? And why does it take him 5 attempts to even hit the ball on goal. I don't think he's going to do well if he keeps just messing around. And all those rollovers that he whiffed/airballed. Skill issue.
🤣
Yes
Omg I thought these were just for messing around at parties, didn't know it was a real sport
I actually have no clue what was illegal
The shooter didn't wait one second before shooting after adjusting his goalie rods and bringing his left hand back to his passing rod.
Justin is a beast!!
1:48 I have never seen Brandon this mad 😲
You should explain Why does it go to the 5 bar and not the 2 bar in this case.....
This is going to absolutely blow your mind, but just because it doesn't happen in a 15-second clip, that doesn't mean it didn't happen. If you're asking why though, I don't mind answering your question. And that answer is, "It goes to the 5-bar instead of the 2-bar because that's what the rule is."
@@HelloIamClay Thanks Clay, but still not understanding why it wouldn't go to the opponents 2 bar like in all(?) other cases when the ball leaves the table? I guess I'll have to read the play rules (again) to see what I missed lol.
He sure made picking the ball up look easy.
@@greghuff4139 Yes he did. I'm jealous as hell lol I have all kinds of control once it's up there, just can't get it there lmao
They changed the rule. If you shoot an aerial and it goes off the table then the ball is awarded to the opponents five rod.
For clarity, the play at 4:40 was not illegal. The players did review the video together and agreed on what happened, but there was a misunderstanding in the moment about the rule. Both of these players are honest folks with utmost sportsmanship. They just made an honest mistake. A good lesson in why it's important to (a) know the rules thoroughly and (b) ask a ref if you're not sure about a call.
i didnt see anything illegal either, but what did they think was illegal? (maybe the momentary pause in play as Castillo set his 2 bar- and then just shot from the 5 bar without touching another figurine?) But of course a deadball can be advanced from the 5 bar if shot into the net (in this case).
In other circumstances, the same play would be illegal. For example, if this were doubles and a player took his hand off the handle and then shot like that, it would be an infraction. Or even in singles, if the ball were set on the 3-bar and the same movement with the left hand occurred, that would also be an infraction. But in singles on the 5-bar and also in singles on the 2-bar, the one-second rule does not apply.
Awesome, where about these guys are playing?
This event was in April at the Hall of Fame Classic in Vegas.
Smooth finish
23:56 could defending a backwards pass be considered a distraction by the letter of the rulebook?
Love to watch these two. There should be an old InsideFoos video somewhere of James winning against Ryan with a bunch of slingshots... and celebrating in tears afterwards :D
There *should* be a lot of things, yet here we are... 🤣
11:02 throw-back Ryan Moore shot
some weak passing....see the game has gone down these days....

Ryan Moore and Tony podcast please if possible
Great to see Tumey playing! Always hear him commentating :) Please don't fast forward between matches, it's nice to see chit chat and what happens between games. Thank you for the amazing content!
If it's interesting, it will stay. Otherwise, it will be skipped. Thanks for watching!
10:59 poetic justice wow. Foosball is known for running it back!
5:25 "loosen yo grip!"
Loose grip w/ my left hand on a hard shooting rollover? Neverrrr! Lol. I'll take this exception and keep all the time the ball leaves the table. But yeah, everyone could use a little grip loosening in general. :)
@@HelloIamClay great match... impressive!
@@SarahPalinQuit Thanks!
4:40 😂
No one really wants to have someone that is not involved in the match make a call for their friends get a ref bottom line no call should be over turned unless there is a ref at the table..
A ref can review video to make a call on anything that the players don't agree to. To say no call should be overturned without a ref is just inviting unfair play. The rules are great as they are.
Quality content, this match!
Great defense by Tumey. He was stonewalling him!
Love how Todd adjusted on the first game. I always loved when someone got loud like that and still lost!
10:14 take the shot!!!
what happened at 0:47 seconds? Ryan passed the ball back to Jeff?
Looked like he was goofing around and accidentally tapped the ball forward.
0:45 I think is a better spot
11:31
🤣 Skill game!
It’s impressive how quickly y’all see that.
One of the most commonly missed calls imo.
I was trying to see the spin because that's what Alfred Lo was Commenting, "No spin..." It wasn't until after the third re-watch that I realized it was that he took his shot too quickly from after adjusting his men.
Alguém pode me explicar o que houve? Não consegui entender
In singles, if the ball is set on the forward shooting rod (i.e,. the 3-rod), you can't shoot immediately after adjust other rods. In this case, the left hand of the shooter was brought back up to the passing rod and he shot too quickly (i.e., he didn't wait the minimum one second). Does that help?
@@modernfoos yes, It does. Thank you
I loved the final goal, however could you call that a distraction since his right hand went to his 3 bar and basically at the same time he shot the ball? I thought in that scenario he would have to wait a full second before he could shoot
In singles, the rule you're referring to only applies when the ball is at a set position on the 3-bar. It doesn't apply when the ball is on the 5-bar or 2-bar. Good question!
@@modernfoos ah I see, thanks!
