I started with a soft dog ball, and upgraded to a black Kong dog toy. My shins were bruised to sh*t with the weight change, so when I upgraded to the railspike kubotan (my attempt at a kind of hybrid dart-hammer). I went real slow with it, made a couple of treadplate shin-guards. Still ended up wrapping it in foam tape but it still hurts like hell when you drop the ball. A monkeyfist made of coffee beans might have developed the shins rather than leaving them so badly damaged lol

Now you can appreciate how the hit depends on velocity and mass, and not on acceleration
