The intro 'grabbed' me when found by accident on Spotify - opened up a whole new experience of Sylvan albums ; the Posthumous Silence album video so great
Pane Of Truth Lying in my bed of tears, haunted by the eye of sorrow Overloaded sceneries - living side by side Voices from this mouth of screams tempted me with thousand faces Lying in my room of fears hope to fall asleep Once in times so long ago when I heard the breeze of laughter Innocence so warm and neat like sunbeams through the pane of glass and Now that all those years gone by - fading light replaced by sorrow Wonder if this light was just a dream Staring through the open hole, paralyzed and full of anger All the people that I see since the world has changed Visions of distorted lust - travesty of human nature While this window silently suffocates my screams Once in times so long ago when I heard the breeze of laughter Innocence so warm and neat like sunbeams through the pane of glass and Now that all those years gone by - fading light replaced by sorrow Wonder if this light was just a dream Pieces cut out elementary - Paranoia fades out gently fade out, you lie - fade out and die Staring at the flattened walls - thought I saw a trace of something Lying in my room of dark, windowless but safe [Guitar solo] Woah ... Once in times so long ago when I heard the breeze of laughter Innocence so warm and neat like sunbeams through the pane of glass and Now that all those years gone by - fading light replaced by darkness Wonder if this light was just a dream __ What a beautiful piece
The last time anything in Rock was original was before 1977. Porcupine Tree (Pink Floyd)? Marillion (Genesis)? I wouldn't call them original either...That's why it's called "Neo-progressive." If it was truly "progressive" and innovative. It would be something that's new, original and never performed before. There are musicians who can perform, classical, blues, jazz etc...But, they can't re-invent those genres and call it by those names. Just like, there are bands, who can try to sound like Genesis, Yes, Pink Floyd. But, when they came out, in the mid to late 60s and early 70s. They could be called original...to a degree. Progressive Rock at that time, was rock 'n roll, that combined jazz, blues, classical and folk influences, where technical prowess, experimentation and themes where prominent and encouraged...Bill Haley and the Comets, Elvis, Little Richard, certainly were not trying to do something similar in the 50s.Then came Punk, which demanded to tear it all down and start over...But, that's all that could be done, anyhow. Lydon/ Rotten was right at the time...Rock n' Roll is dead...And, for the most part, IMO, it has been rehash to one degree or another since then.
@@l.k.leinenbachWell, Porcupine tree is pretty original and it's probably the best band to ever exist. And they definitely sound nothing like the crap and shit that is Pink Floyd. Porcupine tree and Steven Wilson are a genre in themselves, and have introduced the concept of storytelling through music. Steven Wilson's music is the audio equivalent of movies. He is the best musical genius to ever exist in the history of music, incomparable to others!
what song

Nice but nothing original. They are between Marillion and Porcupine Tree
