I agree. Astral Taxi is better than their first album. I like all the cuts on Astral Taxi, but the title track and "Benny the Wonder Dog" are my favorites.

This is one of my favorite albums. But I have to issue a warning. I waited years for a CD copy to be published and when I got it, I was so disappointed. It is mixed very badly. When the bass first comes in on the title track, it's an awesome sound on the vinyl copy. It's not there on the commercially available CD. So disappointing. I made a digital recording of my vinyl copy, ran it through some snap, crackle, and pop removing software, and then copied all the tracks to a CD. So now I only listen to the copy of the original vinyl. Keep your vinyl copy.

I was the lead singer of a band in 1972 that played "Dancing Madly Backward..." Both albums with Evans are personal favorites.

Growing up in Ft. Worth, Texas, this band holds a special place in my musical appreciation library. Saw them several times. Have listened to this album more times than I can count. Just excellent. Produced the album themselves. Lost the album release mojo while waiting for equipment to duplicate the guitar sounds inherent on the album. Really too bad. They were considered the Ft. Worth Beatles. While in high school (Paschal), they filled in as studio musicians on some early T Bone Burnett recordings as he learned the ropes. He was another Paschal grad.

Thanks for making this video! I have many Guru, Guru cds. I started collecting Guru, Guru releases on vinyl in the 70s. Kanguru is one of my favorites. I also like their Jazz Rock period which some instrumental tracks on Live 78' are reminiscent of the German band Passport.

I saw Cheap Trick in San Diego in 1978, they opened for Kansas, they blew the roof off the San Diego Sports Arena. Kansas put everyone to sleep. Cheap Trick cant open for Kansas the music was to different.

I think that album surpasses anything yes ever did, not a popular opinion I’m sure but there’s really something special about that Druid album.

Probably my favorite CT LP, and Takin' me Back has one of the greatest guitar riffs ever.
