BMW 6 Liter V12!!
Eagle Specialty Products, along with several other companies in the late 90s and early 2000s made some seriously cool things for the BMW flagship engines at the time. One of those things was this 90mm crankshaft, that will bump our displacement in the M70B50 from 5 liters to a torque whopping 6 liters!

# An unfortunate design, and documented problem that faces every M70 and S70 powered car - loose oil rail banjo bolts. These banjo bolts allow oil to pass through an oil rail that feeds the cam lobes with oil. Today I found a brand new old stock m70 short block complete with performance heads, pistons, Schrick cams the list goes on. The "build" is a 1995 525iT e34 that will be getting an m70 with dinan twin turbo manifolds, gtx3071r turbos and a 6 speed manual transmission.

That crankshaft is an amazing find, it's going to be a very cool build! What cylinder heads are you planning to use?
I agree, though recent research revealed this is in fact not an eagle crank, but a mystery crankshaft from the 90s. I’ll have to do more digging to uncover the truth. I will be using a port and polished set of 1991 m70 heads since they come with larger exhaust valves.

MAN WHAT A AMAZING CAR! I know its a lot of work i know its a lot of work! How many people can say they have a E34 M5! How many people can say they have a E34 M5 with M70 V12 conversion done to it? How many people can say they have a e34 M5 with a extremely rare 850 CSI driveline in it. 😅 Restore it as this is 1 of the most unique conversions ever! I know it's a lot of work but you got my attention and to be honest soon a lot of people will notice it very soon! Imagine what E39 M5 restorations would say! Save them all as long as we can!

I have an opinion! With zero comprehension for how massive an investment in time and money it would be, you should totally restore it. Look forward to seeing your updates and what decisions you make.
I always wondered where the car went after it disappeared from Willz, so cool it pops back on a UA-cam vid. If the oil is clean with no shavings I don’t see the need to rebuild the engine. Since you’re in Cali wouldn’t it need to be CARB certified? Scariest thing is the rust on the underbody.
I'm glad you were able to stumble across it here. Truthfully, I get enjoyment out of refreshing and rebuilding so that on its own is a motivating factor. When it comes to CARB, it retained all supporting emission equipment, has a US vin, and just needs original catalytic converters installed and it will pass. Its something that is up on the whiteboard, but may happen a little down the road.

Nice intro. That rust is really not bad. We’re just not used to it in California. Other than those front jack points, several days with a wire wheel will clean that up. Looking forward to updates.
I appreciate the vote of confidence. I always assume that if there is rust where I can see it, there is rust where I cant. Ill give the wire wheel a whirl and see what I can knock down.

That's both the worst and best E34 M5. I actually like the bumper markers on the E34. I park at meets/shows and leave my marker lights on. Mine are amber though. Amber for life. I guess you should be glad the valve covers keep the bolts from coming all the way out, huh
LOL thats a great point! Keeps them from bouncing around on the cams i guess

@@matthewbanks1102 aftermarket. The 4.6is only came naturally aspirated from the factory
What is your exhaust set up on the e34?
Essentially just high flow cats to an xpipe to a magnaflow two - two muffler. It’s an m62tub44 swap though so will sound different than the m60 stock motor.

Dont push the old lady so hard. Those 7 seconds to 60 wont impress anybody today but the fact that its in a prestine condition - will.
Mine can do 0 to 60 in about 6.2 seconds and this is supercharged so it's more like 5.0 seconds 0 to 60.

Unfortunately they are NLA for now. Hopefully BMW will make another run. Your best bet is to look for some used or alternatively, you can buy replicas that are actually good quality if you don't mind non OEM stuff.
